I have been engaged for a litttle over a month now. I am 25, my fiance is 24. He proposed in Walt Disney World in front of Cinderella’s Castle 😀 I look really young for my age and I am confined to a wheelchair, which makes me look even younger. Anyways, the day after he proposed, he, his father and I went to a Chinese restaurant for lunch. We finished our meal and was heading out to the car. his couple came up to us and my FI’s father happily said to them, “They just got engaged yesterday!” The woman looks at me and says, “Congratulations! How old are you?” She seemed shocked. I laughed and replied, “I’m 25.” She was like, “Oh! Well, congratulations!” Lol. Has something like this ever happened to you?

People are rude. I would have asked her how old SHE is! My doctor told me I looked younger than 23 a few months ago, which I don’t believe since I’m pretty tall and I looked mad frumpy that day :-p

Well I’m 20, and a petite Asian. I am always asked if I am in the age range of 12-14. It’s annoying when your little sister is 14 and 3 inches taller and looks more grown up than you.
I can’t wait to get carded for the first time on my birthday in a couple months!. They’ll never believe me.

@MissOtter: SAME HERE! I’m 24, very petite Asian and people think I’m in high school still. I’ve basically just resigned myself to being carded for the rest of my life.

People are rude and don’t think before they speak. Congratulations!!

Very recently on two occassions. Which is awesome, because up until now people always thought I was older. I’m in mylast year of my 20s, and I think I’m going to stay there 🙂

I look young too — without makeup and just wearing a jeans and a t-shirt. I used to get carded all the time, and sometimes I would get asked for 2 pieces of ID + plus my signature! However, I dress in office attire and wear makeup now, so I look more my age now (23). But without makeup and just casual clothes, I look under 19. I think it’s all about how you present yourself.

I look super young… I’m 26… When I went into the salon for my hair and make up trial I wasn’t wearing any makeup and my hair looked awful because I figured ya know they were going to do it. A woman there heard me say I’m here for at trial and trying to make small talk said prom?… I was like wait what no… Wedding… im 26.. I know you can’t tell from my amazing ensemble of converse sneakers jeans and a tshirt but I swear I clean up nice. She was shocked.

i totally feel you, ladies. but i have no idea why this is happening to me – i am 23, 5’10” and size 10, that’s not petite at all. i’m seriously getting tired of showing my id whenever i want to buy cigs. can’t believe i look under 18.

oh well, the plus side is that we’ll look amazing at 60 😉

The flip side of this is at some point, you’ll start to love the younger comments….I’m 35 and when ppl tell me I look way younger, I want to kiss them! 🙂

I hear you. I’m currently 25. All my patients at work ask if I’m there to get experience or help me decide if I’d like to do this someday. I have to politely inform them that not only am I not trying to figure out what to major in in college, I have obtained my BS, MS, and gotten married since that time in my life. They are shocked and say they thought I was maybe 18. I try to remind myself that looking young will be a blessing in the long run.

I know I look 14. So when were all 50 we’ll look 30?
Oh no no no no…It doesn’t annoy me at all! Infact, I love it…ofcourse, being in my 30’s might explain why I love it when people are shocked by my age. My personal trainer laughed for a few good minutes when I told him I was 30….He thought I was 21 or 22. We had developed a friendship by then, so the laughing at me being 30 didn’t offend me at all. lol
Several days before I got married, I went to a makeup store. During the course of conversation with a sales associate working there, she started going on and on and on about getting married too young and how to need to experience life and blah blah blah. She shut up pretty quickly when I told her I was 28. lol
So yeah, I love when people think I’m younger than I really am. Such a boost to my ego. lol

i totally understand! I hate being asked how old I am (I am almost 22), I often look younger than my sister (who just turned 19), what really riles me up is when people say to me “oh you’ll love looking young when you’re 30” I’m not #[email protected]$*! 30 yet am I? I hate looking like a young teenager when I am in my early 20s!
