OMG, that's a huge motivation for me! You're amazing! Do you have before and after pics?! :) So far I've lost just over 20 lbs in 2 months. I'm getting married in July, so I've got 6 more months to lose another 40lbs hopefully!
Thanks so much for this post :)
WOW! Well done! You must be so proud! I have about 22 pounds to loose (10 kg) and I've just started excersising again (it's devastating how quickly your fittness declines!). I've been exercising everyday (1/2 on the treadmill/yoga dvd/swimming) and I'm hoping that this time will be the time it actually sticks!
I've tried to loose weight like, a bajillion times and usually I manage between 8-10 pounds before I inevitably end up stopping the excersise and eating poorly again and putting some - if not all - of it back on. It's so frustrating!
What motivation did you use to keep it up over 8 months?
THATS AWESOME!! Congrats on a great accomplishment! I know it must feel good mentally and physically, so you go girl!!
Wow, congratulations!!!
For your walking, did you use those new exercise shoes they have out, or did you just use regular shoes, and how long did you start your walks for?
Thank you all for your congratulations.. I'm so much happier now! I would like to lost another 10-20lbs before my October wedding, so I'm still on my journey, but am proud of how far I've come. As for before and after photos, I did not take any "official" ones, but I'm sure I can put a couple together for the sake of the thread :). Noritake22, I did try out the shape-up shoes hoping they would help tone my lower body and burn a few more calories; unfortunately, they were very uncomfortable and made my toes fall asleep after only having them on for a couple minutes. I would like to try the ones by reebok, and will post a thread if I do and whether I would recommend them. Thanks again everyone! Any of you hoping to lose weight, I just want you to know you CAN do it, and if you believe you can too you WILL! :)
Congrats on your accomplishment! I've lost 4 lbs in one week of my crazy workout program, but I have 20 more to go to be at my ideal weight. You're a great inspiration to the other girls on the boards. Keep up the good work!
holy moly! WOW thats amazing, what a huge accomplishment!!! Congrats girly!!!!!!
Congrats. I have been trying to be healthy for two weeks now. First week I lost two pounds, this past week I gained two pounds. :(
Congrats on losing all that weight!!!!
wow! congrats! weight is a constant struggle for me. i would like to get to a healthy weight but i cant keep it up. i need more motivation and a reminder of that motivation!if you have any advice please share :)
i have the skeetchers shoes and the reebox ones. it really depends what you are using them for. i like the skeetchers ones if i am just talking a nice walk outside or something but i like the reebox ones for running and working out at the gym. the one thing about the reebox ones i dont like is that they dont fit good enough. the shoe laces dont lace up far enough on your feet and so they feel loose all the time. it makes me affraid that i might hurt my ankle. i got them at shoe carnival when they were buy one get one half off because they are expensive.
You GO girl! That's awesome! I'd love to hear more about what you eat and your exercise regimen. Like, recipes and such! :D Congrats!
Congrats! Sounds like you did it the best way, fad diets never work!
Wow, good for you! That's awesome that you were able to get healthy!
So I thought I'd post a few easy things I incorporate into my lifestyle to promote healthy weightloss.. First of all, excercise is important. It doesn't need to be an extreme plan, even just going for a walk or jog is great! I love Jazzercise because I like to dance and I like that it also involves strength training (and no one there judges you!
) As for food.. I just ate half a brownie. :) Haha, I'm telling you this because I want you to know that I do allow myself to eat sweets, BUT I eat them way differently now. Smaller portions, try to pick the "healthiest" alternative, and eat them as a treat.. not a snack. If you eat something that tastes so darn good when your hungry and need a snack, you'll eat way more than you need/want to. It's easier not to dig into that pan of brownies when I know after dinner I will get to eat a half a brownie. Food basics: sweet potatoes (instead of white potatoes), whole wheat pasta, whole wheat breads, lean meats (chicken, steak, venison, fish), skim milk, light sour cream/cheese/cottage cheese (skim dairy to me tastes GROSS, milk i can tolerate though since I only use it on cereal), original shredded wheat cereal which I add 1/4 tsp cinnamon and one packet splenda, apples, bananas, broccoli, smuckers natural peanut butter (must be stirred and refridgerated, but delicioius), raw almonds (sometimes I drizzle some honey on them and eat them as a sweet and healthy snack). Basic guidelines are go whole grain/wheat, cut the fat, nix as much sugar as possible, fiber is GOOD, more veggies and fruit. I use a lot of my same recipes but use sauces with less sugar, sodium, and fat. Any other questions about what I eat on a daily basis or brands i reccomend, feel free to ask. :)
""""""So here are a few pictures.. I had gone through the computer and deleted almost every picture of me from when I was heavier because I hated the way I looked, so I only have a couple of pictures. The last is of me at Halloween at about 175lbs. My most recent pictures are at my fiance's graduation and Christmas, and my fmil has them, so I will post them once I get a hold of her. UGH!!!!! I hate this pictures so you ladies better appreciate them! lol""""""
I tried to post some pictures but they were denied because of size.. anyone know how I can fix it?
Too fix the size of the pic, click on the picture so that it has it's own window, go to tools, and then click on adjust size. when you save it, save it under a different name, so you have your original and your adjusted size. (I have a Mac, so I don't know if it's different on PCs).
Congratulations. This such a great motivation. It makes we want to go for a walk, except it's raining. I want to lose about 30 pounds by June. I know it's doable but I need to just start exercising more consistently. Right now, I'm more sporadic than consistent.
Congrats! Can't wait to see your before/after pics. Great work. I need to start working out again hard core.
WOW!!! well done & congrats on all your hard work. That is inspiring and impressive!!!
Way to go!! I can't wait to see your before and after pics...I am on a weightloss journey myself and have lost 11 lbs so far! Still would like to drop another 30, but I would be happy with 20 more!
Congratulations!!! I know that took a lot of hard work and patience so you should definitely be proud of yourself! You are an inspiration to more people than you know... WB, friends, family, coworkers, etc. Way to go!!!!
Congratulations. My husband has lost 20 pounds counting calories and excercising. and Its amazing!!
Good job, keep up the healthy habits!!

Hello, Ladies! So figure I'd better clarify right away that I am a REAL person, not some advertiser.. After becoming engaged, I immediately wanted to start wedding dress shopping. As a 5'6 and 215 lbs 21 year old.. it was not pretty. I decided I wanted to change this, and started slow at first. I began walking for at least 30 minutes a day, switched to whole grain and low fat, eliminated as much sugar as possible and ate more fruits and vegetables. I also started using our Bowflex and attending Jazzercise classes 2 or 3 times a week. Counting calories also kept me aware of just how much I was putting into my body. I'm proud to say that my journey from this May to now, 8 months later, I have lost 60lbs and now weigh a healthy 155 lbs! :) I've never felt better. I'm no expert, but I'm happy to answer anyone's questions and pass on a little information and motivation.
