yesterday, and Im absolutely devo... Was at my brothers wedding out on the grass and somewhere between speeches and going home ive lost it...

FH says its insured..thank goodness.. but its not going to be the same. Devo :( So FH gave my wedding ring in the meantime to wear.. nice gesture but its not my engagement ring :( Ive been a blubbering mess since ive lost it.

I dont know where it went.. we searched the grass of the venue.. Dad says hes going to look again tomorrow. Went though the car, parents house... Im shattered.

So if you dont have your ring insured ladies, I suggest you insure it now!

Awww!  That's awful, I'm so sorry.  Do you know anyone with a metal detector?  Maybe that could help to find it in the grass?  I hope you guys can find it! :(

I also agree with the bees on a metal detector. I'm so sorry! I'm terribly clumsy/lose everything so we had my ring insured less than 24 hours after it was on my finger. At least it was insured, I know it won't be the same, but at least you didn't just lose the whole wearing of the e-ring.

Eeeek! Time to get a metal detector, ASAP! And while you're at it, you may want to size the band down. Was it fitting properly before you lost it?

That's horrible - make sure it's sized properly, because it shouldn't be able to fall off by itself. It was smart of your FI to get it insured though - mine did the same thing.

That's so sad! Im sorry that happened to you. I remember when I was little, my dad lost his wedding ring in the woods and my whole family was out looking for it for hours. Aunts, uncles, cousins, everyone. Never found it :(

:( I'm absolutely TERRIFIED of losing mine at work. It could end up anywhere there, and we'd NEVER find it. Mr. KM has yet to get insurance on it, too! I'm so annoyed with that since he was supposed to get it before he even gave it to me.

Aw, I am so sorry! It's good that it was insured, but you'll never be able to replace the sentiment. I hope it turns up!

If you find a friend w/a metal detector, then make sure it has a discriminator on it.  One of my coworkers (he's about 60) loves to go around places with it.  the discriminator can tell what metal they're looking at.

we had a look this morning.. were out there at 6am, as friends of ours do have a metal detector. However mum and dads property where the wedding was is 1acre... so its a fair distance to cover. Dad is still out there and I left an hour ago.

No luck :( I took the day off work today to go looking for it.. Feeling very down. I had no idea I could be so emotionally attached to the ring. I feel very lost without it. Anyway Ill head back today to see how dad went.

    Thanks for the suggestions!

Cant go to jewelry store yet, as we have yet to wait for the insurance to come through. FH is on the phone now. We have money put away for the wedding, so we are very tempted to use that to go buy a new ring but FH said it took him a whole year to save up to by my original engagement ring.

So I will hold off on getting a new one. Its a costly experience. FH says that maybe with the insurance money we can get a custom one to fit the wedding ring, as the engagement ring was part of a bridal set, and with the money left over put it towards the honeymoon.

Who knows.. Im devo... I so hope we find it!

Daydream, cant wait to see piccys of your ring!

Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry!  We went and got my ring appraised about 6 months ago, but never got insurance.  Dumb!  You have inspired me to get it insured this week - especially since my center stone is a family heirloom.  I am keeping my fingers crossed for you that it turns up.

So sorry to hear you lost it! I lost mine a couple weeks ago (sadly it wasn't insured! Yikes!) I've heard some stories though of strangers finding rings and posting "found" signs and people being re-united with their lost rings... Who knows - maybe it will turn up? Definitely feel your pain though. Just remember - it's only a ring and its replaceable. At least that's what I keep telling myself!

Update: WE FOUND IT WE FOUND IT!!!!!!!!!

Dad found it a bout 2 hours ago, underneath the staircase of the balcony... it was litterally the last 30mtres they searched. It must of come off when i was walking down and it fell between the steps into the garden underneath. Absolutely stoked!!!

Im feeling lucky at the moment so I better go buy a lotto ticket..

Such a relief! I didnt like the idea of going to buy a replacement.

I am so sorry you had to go through this. But I am very happy that your Dad was able to find it. You have an awesome father, and if it were me, I would definately do something extra special for your Dad.
