Wow, that was a close one. Let's hope you take this chance to get your ring insured, if you don't already have it.
Get a chain and put it on a chain around your neck if you ever have to take it off!
I know who a Dr who took her rings off to do surgery and placed them in her scrub pockets, and she ended up putting on new scrubs and giving the ones with her rings in them to the laundry. The laundry goes down to Denver to be done and she thought for sure she would never see them again, they were returned that next weekend! And her rings were NICE!!
I forget mine a lot at home after I shower and I always notice half way through my shift at work and freak out that I pulled off my gloves and threw it away. Luckily they are always at home. I bet you were so worried!
@SweetRose2011: OMG! I saw your post and thought "NOOO!". So glad you found it. I lost my diamond necklace at work. It fell off in the parking lot and luckily the next morning it was still there. I about died, could not imagine if it were my ring!!
Oh gosh, I would have had a heart attack! So glad you got it back safe and sound!
@BanditGirl: that's a good idea! You could also put your ring in a specific pocket in your purse when you need to take it off so there is less chance of it getting lost.
@missfireslayer: couldn't tell you how awful it felt to worry for those few minutes. I was so nervous to have to tell my FI that I was careless and lost the most precious memorable ring I've ever gotten. He picked this one for me because I told him it was my favorite and haven't seen something so similar since. She's my pride and joy, the most expensive and beautiful piece of anything that I own and if I lost it, since we are poor broke and I already have my wedding ring I don't know what would happen!
Oh wow I thought this was going to be a very very sad post. I can imagine the sinking feeling I would have if I had to tell my fiancée that I lost my engagement ring!
I agree that you should get a necklace chain or perhaps a smaller less expensive one for work. I personally would go with the necklace.
I know that feeling, my ring went MIA for a couple hours once. I read your title and my heart sank... but I'm so happy to hear you had a happy ending! On the bright side, I'm sure you'll never loose track of it again after your ordeal
ahhh! i was so happy for you when i read on and saw someone found it!
This thread title broke my heart -- SO glad you got it back!!!! <3
Thats horrifying! However, my mom added my ring to her home owners insurance.. its 100% covered (lost, stolen, broken, whatever) for $20,000 and I think I paid 100$ for the year, SO worth it
ahhhh don't scare us like that! so glad you got it back. now go insure the hell out of it!
So lucky that you found it! I've had a panic moment once or twice when my ring isn't on my finger - and that's only been a room away. I think I'd cry like a girl if I really did LOSE it.
Oh my! I was sick to my stomach when I read the title of this thread! thank goodness you found her!
I am so glad you found it! I was spead reading through your post because I was so worried. I can't imagine what that would be like!
I'm so glad you found it! Hopefully you have it insured, and hopefully now you'll have a special place to put it if you need to take it off.
Before FI and I were engaged, he had given me a gorgeous diamond right-hand ring, and I lost it on my graduation day. I realized a couple days later that I couldn't find it, and I drove the 40 minutes to my college campus and searched the parking lot until I found it lying on the asphalt! Thank God diamonds are so sparkly :)

I was washing a crap ton of dishes in the backroom and was going to use a chemical bleach on them and didn't want to hurt my ring. I never take it off because I'm worried about losing it or forgetting to put it back on (I only take it off to put on lotion) Anyways, I had put it in my apron pocked, worried I would lose it but being cautious to make sure it went into my pocket and reminding myself to not forget I put it in there. I forgot. And all the sudden in the middle of ringing someone out at drive through I realized I didn't have my ring on me. I looked in all my pockets, looked on all the floors and under cabinets. I thought I was going to scream and ball like a baby.
After my coworkers realized what I was freaking out about they decided to help me look for it. No one had swept under the fridges yet so we looked there and as he was sweeping my co-worker found it. It was so wonderful to haver her back. I swear to God I almost had a panic attack! This just proves once again why I never take it off...because I'm stupid. I'm soooo grateful I didn't lose it!
