@tksjewelry:  Is it bad that I like it more than anything put out recently by Miley Cyrus?

And for the record I do love Chinese food but I much prefer tacos.

I saw this for the first time this morning and I really wasn’t sure if it was a joke or not.  Soooo ridiculous.  However, I will admit that it’s been a lifelong dream to skip through a field with a panda, so I guess I can’t hate on it too much.

I haven’t seen it yet, but lots of mainstream pop music has stupid words and/or videos. “Left the cake out in the rain” anyone?

Let kids like her and Rebecca Black have fun, I say. At least they don’t take themselves seriously.
ETA: And yes, skipping through a field with a panda sounds fun 🙂

    Chow mein mein mein mein…

My FI showed me that video; my reaction was: This is horrible! (and long) Now, I hold the card to annoy him by going “Woo!” and sing parts of the song. He would go, “Do not!”

Terrible song, but I could see it working in like… a radio Disney way. And I won’t lie, I was really happy that the singer’s teeth were a little busted. She looks damn cute. It doedn’t get any points for respect of Chinese culture, and is a very whitewashed view on what chinese food is, and ends up in just kind of a vague ramble about what she feels at chinese things… but it didn’t take things over the top, so it’s more a void of knowledge than outright offensive to me.

Or I might just be overly judgemental, as it’s only a few months on the heels of Asian Girlzm which suffers from a lot of the same issues, but in a FAR more offensive way. There’s something if you want to get your hackles raised up.

Warning: Song contains offensive language (and not just the curse words) sexual themes, and video contains a wondan dancing around in her underwear. Like… A lot of it. Generally there’s nothing redeemable whatsoever abotu the link other than it being used to demonstrate racial issues.

OK now I’ve actually seen the video. The song doesn’t bother me so much…

…But I was super, super creeped out at the way she made friends with that panda (who looked creepy to begin with) who then turned out to be a 30/40-something guy.

I find solace in that out of everything I have done in life, I have never done anything so bad as this video.
