We had a guitarist play our Catholic ceremony and he sang the hymns and alleuia verse. It cost $250. Hope that helps!
I swear, I look around on Craigslist practially everyday just to see if there are any good finds for our empty house...sometimes there's great furniture on there!
Just FYI, (as a local in the music world) students usually get approximately half of what "professionals" get, which can be a good buy for you if you're looking to save $$. If a student from, say Berklee, responded, you could probably offer $150 per hour and still be well within reasonable price range. And from my experience, students are usually just as accomplished as professionals - BUT, definitely get a sample of their work just in case!
Best of Luck!
Our DJ told us that if we want to book a pianist through them, it would be $250 for the ceremony. Hope that helps a bit.
I'm still hoping for a good experience with craigslist...I think I am just too newbie to understand it. FI has used it to great success...found the house he rents and I will be living in soon! =D
I don't have any input on the costs for the services you are looking for. However, I will say that we found both our photographer (for $400) and our hair/make-up person ($50 for each bride) on Craigslist. It can be a great place to find inexpensive services, even for out-of-towners like us.
I loooove craigslist! We just moved into a new house and need a ton of furniture - we got beautiful wrought iron glass coffee table and end tables for $75, and tomorrow we're picking up a queen headboard and bedframe for $50 and a TV console for $50. These are all NICE, non-ikea pieces of furniture! Love it! Only thing is sometimes Craigslist encounters/sales are awkward, but it's ok!!

Well I've followed the ways of some wonderful bees (specifically Mrs. Joey!) and discovered the wonders of craigslist. I posted two listings today and got great responses already. But! That leaves me with all the "power" in regards to pricing. Can anyone guide me in an appropriate direction for pricing of two separate "acts":
(FYI: My wedding is in downtown Boston!)
Thanks!
