After regrettingly putting off most of my wedding planning due to unnecessary depression over dress regret, I have recently become the most giddy, almost psychotic, obsessed bride imaginable! One of the reasons for my excitement? I found the main part of my BM’s gifts, and in my opinion, they are amazing! During a trip to Hallmark, I was browsing through the Vera Bradley bags and discovered one that was priced at over half off. I immediately rushed to the girl at the counter and begged her to check for more. The poor girl probably had her hand on a can of mase the whole time, but I didn’t care. I tried so hard not to get my hopes up as she disappeared into the back room, but couldn no longer control myself when she came walking out with 7 of the bags! 7 + the one that was on the floor = 8! The exact number of my bridesmaids! The bags rang up for $20 a piece and I proudly skipped out of the store with the biggest smile on my face. (Although I must admit, I was slightly disappointed there wasn’t an extra bag for me)
I got home, texted a pictue to my mom and called her. Her response was a simple, “eh, it’s cute” in her tone of voice she uses when she doesn’t want to hurt my feelings. Great. My excitement quickly turned to concern. I felt so selfish that I picked a gift based on my own tastes and price. What if they hate them? I love all my girls tremendously and want to make them happy after everything they have done for me. (I plan on getting a cute pair of white flip flops and an adorable personalized koozie from etsy to stick in the bags)
What do you think, ladies? Do you think this design is too eccentric for a universal taste? Would you use something like this? Or do you think I’m a selfish hag and should just keep all of them for myself and use one everyday until it wears out, and then move on to the next one 😉

I think it’s cute. I would totally use it.

I like it a lot!!! I would be happy if I were a BM.

Hello! I am actually new to this site, and this is my very first post!! Well, I hope I would not cause offence saying this, I think they look a bit specific to an individual taste. But- I definitely think I would no doubt be thinking along the same lines as you. The gifts I seem to look for are what *I* would like…. Of course it’s your choice, but think they look like more of an individual taste x

I heart Vera Bradley! If you think it’s not individualized enough, could you get different designs for each of the girls with their favorite colors? Just a thought…

I would totally love it. Her bags are lightweight, cheerful and good quality. What’s not to love!

Honestly, I agree with your mom. Not my taste at all! However, I hope you will fill it with goodies for the girls that would be totally their taste!

Those are super cute! I would totally use that bag 🙂 I think that even if someone wouldn’t want to use it as a purse it could still be an awesome beach bag or something 🙂 Good pick!

Honestly, I’ve never received a gift as a BM that made me super pumped. If they don’t love the pattern, so what? You bought it thinking it was cute and that expression of generosity will mean a lot to them.

Kind of taste specific sure, but who cares? I would never turn down a nice gift bag, I’m sure they will love it.

I am with your mom eh, not my style and I personally prob wouldn’t use it but if it fits your BM’s then go for it

I detest Vera Bradley bags very pasionetally. Bt I guess you know if your girls like them you either do or don’t.

I don’t like Vera Bradley bags. They look like something old ladies would wear on a cruise or a day out on the town, BUT I actually like this print.
Even if your girls don’t use it as a purse, I’m sure they’d find some use for it like a tote bag, diaper bag, carry-on when traveling, laptop case, etc. depending on the size. I’m sure they’ll like it. Besides they didn’t pay for it! lol

I think it’s cute and I would find a use for it – I agree that even if they didn’t like the print enough to use it as a full time purse, it would still make a great tote for overnights or beach bag or something!

@dawnichole: Cute bags, I love Vera. But more importantly: How did you get over your dress regret?! I’m dealing with the same thing. My mom says I will “grow to love the gown,” but my fiance said “you should go get another one if you’re not in love!” Our wedding is in 70 days and I’m kinda freaking out.
