Stew has this squeaky football that is his FAVORITE toy, but it is also super annoying at night so we don't generally let him have it at bed time. Last night he snuck it in the room and we were too lazy to throw it in the hall so my husband just put it in the basket at the end of our bed figuring that he wouldn't know where it was.
About 5 min later we here weird noises coming from the foot of the bed so I turned a lamp on, and see he had sniffed it out, and jumped up onto our cedar chest to go after it... but then he was stuck.

Like... he just didn't know what to do from there except stare at it and bark. He didn't try to reach over the top. He didn't take the obvious route and just knock the basket down. He just stared. And barked. And occasionally he would try to dig down into the cedar chest next to the basket... as though he thought that his football was stuck in some impenetrable prison and he had to tunnel it out. For like 10 min until I gave up and gave it to him. It's a good thing he's cute bc he is definitely not smart!!
Relatedly... this is the face our cat makes when he barks:

Milo is not amused by the noise.
It's monday morning folks and I think we could all use our weekly dose of funny pet pics... so have at it! Your pets, your friends' pets, or even lolpets. :)
:( The pictures aren't showing up!
I definitely understand the sentiment though - our dog is certainly not the brightest crayon in the box (although I don't have cute, embaressing pictures to document this fact).
Hmm... they show up for me so I don't know why they don't for you. I just deleted them and re-added them.... are they visible now?
(p.s. why is wb so buggy lately?!?)
@CorgiTales: They're working now! And your cat makes AWESOME faces! :)
Aw, cute. Our dog always seems to know where his toys are too.. but never knows how to get them. I think he was doing a toy inventory last week and just went around the house.. whining where ever his toys were that were out of his reach until I found them for him.
Oh, I can relate. I love my Ace dearly, but he definitely got hit with the stupid stick a couple times before we got him.
This is him the other night. He is too much like a two year old to go lay down in his crate where it is dark and possibly miss something going on. Instead he sticks his head under the table/blanket/pillow/whatever is available. This also means, when he does hear something going on he is banging his head on the table trying to get out.

@sdrury89: lol that is too funny! ive never seen a dog who cared about sleeping in the dark :)
MY cat Frank definitely has a disability. He just doesn't understand a lot of the time. He tries to copy what the other cats do but he always needs to practice. He can also be tricked real easily. Its so weird because cats are usually SO smart! Here he is..

The first one is one I took while my cat was yawning and stretching, the second one was of him in my son's old car seat...The look on his face is funny to me...he is the laziest cat ever haha!
@CorgiTales: Haha, he has a very strick bed-time of 10:00 pm and if the lights are still on after that he makes sure to let us know he isn't pleased. lol
Our younger dog just turned a year a few months ago, so she's still a super excitable little thing. Now that it's spring her excitement works more than her eyes and she's run excitedly into a screen or glass door several times trying to join people outside or inside or chase a bug.
Here is my cat, Lucy, after she got a bath

@missyjane77: you give your cat a bath?? You know that cats clean themselves, right?
@kingytobe: aw... the kitty i had before I had my dog used to do the same thing!
@muckmoo1: lol this pic reminds me of this post from hyperbole and a half: http://hyperboleandahalf.blogspot.com/2010/07/dog.html
@SweetCheeks: i'm 99% positive your cat is stoned in the second pic :)
@KateByDesign: fair warning-- never tell me where you live because i WILL kidnap your dog lol. soooooooooooooo cute! i am obsessed with frenchies!
@CorgiTales: haha - then I probably shouldn't tell you that we're getting a second!
They are the FUNNIEST dogs.
Our rat terrier chose to usurp the laundry basket this weekend when we took away her pillow privileges in the bedroom (she'd been using my microsuede pillows as beds!).

@missyjane77: Aww <3 I use to give my kitty baths before I had to part with her. I trained her to enjoy bath time, though I was always in the tub too and kept her close so she didn't freak out.
Tried with my other cat (pictured) he about skinned me alive, so ... when he didn't get himself clean I'd get the wipes and wipe him down (pet safe, from local pet shops).
The above photo is my 110 lb dog being attacked by a friend's 5 lb puppy. The little dog is attached to his lip and he just lets her. Most of their play is spent with Cletus (the huge goof ball) on his back while the puppy pounces on top of him. :)
Glory literally spent about an hour in a red plastic tub last night watching and attacking the shadows DH's fingers made on the outside of it. Sigh.

And don't forget the infamous Peter in a roasting pan....
Or really any box...

Okay it ate one of my photos. Glory also thinks she's very sneaky and great at hiding.

Oh yes, our sweet Barney (80-lb lab mix) is not always the sharpest knife in the drawer. He will run full speed into our screen door several times every summer until he gets used to having it in place. He conks his head on things, but it has no discernable effect on him. He doesn't realize how long his body is (he's probably 5 feet tall on his hind legs) and will have his nose buried in his preferred spot to pee, while he urinates on the sidewalk three feet behind him. He also sleeps with his head alone under the bed, and thinks he is invisible when he does so. I love him so much!
@KateByDesign: haha that is awesome. I love them but i really like rescuing pups and there just are never any in rescues around here unless they have serious behavioral problems. i've thought about some day maybe finding a reputable breeder but when i weigh the cost of that vs. a cheaper and every-bit-as-lovable-if-maybe-not-quite-as-cute pound puppy who needs a home i just cant.
@Dr Pepper: amazing
@Phantom: omg... a combo of the fact that it looks like he is laughing while being tickled + imagining him peeing in a totally random spot while trying to pee on a bush had me laughing so hard i was crying
@Phantom: My dog has the awkward long body and pee-ing problem too. He stand on the curb and finds the spot with his nose, but is really pee-ing on the street below the curb. I just laugh now..lol
Oh I thought of another weird nonsense thing Glory does. She's a bit bite-y, but if she's biting and you stay to her "Glory! What's nice???" in this particular intonation she'll let go and start licking you instead. I have no idea how she learned that but it's cute that she does it. Also a little strange that she doesn't just stop biting so I don't have to yell at her. LOL!
This thread is awesome. I need some funny pictures of our boys and my cat (my husband isn't a fan of my cat, so she'll always be my cat).
Our puggle will lift his leg to pee and then realize he really actually needs to poo. He just looks at me like... "what do I do? What do I do, it's coming out really quickly tell me what to do!" Eventually he swings his leg around and manages to assume the proper position but it's hilarious.
@muckmoo1: Ya. You sleep in the roasting pan, I'm decorating you with carrots and taking photos you dummy. LOL!
@ariel: Awww I luvs the stubby ear!!!
Our lab/border collie mix isn’t the brightest. In fact, we nicknamed her Dur-Dur. We’ve determined she has OCD and ADD; she’d circle several times counter-clockwise to go potty but if she took one step too many she would have to go full circle again a few times to get it just right. Then, mid-business she would get distracted. Someone walking by, a car parking, leaves rustling, etc would be enough for her to stop what she is doing; but then it’s like she forgets what she was just doing and she would have to start all over. Sometimes it takes her 20 min to take care of business and some days it’s frustrating when it’s raining out. She loves to play fetch but would stand there and wag her tail waiting for you to throw it even after you’ve already done so. If there was one quote to describe her, it would be, "I wag my tail because I have absolutely no idea what is going on..."
So for the love of all things goober, here is Sasha.

I love all these pictures! They are so cute!
This is my cat, Kai'a, she loves chasing geckos and last night there was one outside the window.

@ladyjustice: Hahahaha, my Ace has made that face before! And that quote describes him pretty well too. They'd be best friends I'm sure.
