I am in absolute love with my dress!!! However, I think I gained weight since six months ago when I ordered it. They said my measurements were exact for the size I ordered, but now it is too tight in the back. I am so disappointed because I think it looks perfect from the front.
However, when you look at the back, it is so skintight that it’s making a “back crack” situation occur. I have been trying to eat well and work out like crazy in the hopes that it will fit better when I go for my first alterations appointment in 3 weeks. Is there anything I can do to make that area of my body slimmer? I could have them let the dress out a little there but for one thing I would have to pay for the whole alterations package when other than that I don’t need anything altered, and just on principle I will be so disappointed in myself if after all of my hard work of eating right and exercising I have actually gotten bigger than I was at the beginning of my engagement!! Please help!!

I honestly don’t see what you’re talking about. It looks great as it is, not an ounce of back fat in sight

If you don’t slim down the alterations department can probably take it out a teeny bit.

You look amazing I’m that dress, I don’t see what you ate talking about, but do what will make you feel comfortable to be in that dress.

I had the same issue, and then just realized that’s how my back is. I don’t have any extra back fat, but the way my posture is, it makes the back crack. Especially when standing with hands on hips. The way I see it, no one’s going to be looking at back crack. They’ll be looking at your smiling face and beautiful dress.

Thank you all so much! I should have added, the sales associate was unable to zip it up all the way…so I really appreciate everyone saying it looks nice but I guess I have to either lose a few pounds or have them alter it and take it out there.
Thanks everyone!!! I love my dress!!! So excited

Are you a gym member? A rowing machine or one of those back+abs machines might help… But you look AMAZING!

It’s the cut of the dress…not you! You are thin as a rail and I don’t think it’s back fat…just your skin pushed together by the fabric. Just have her let it out a bit…don’t punish yourself In the weeks leading up to your special day. You are absolutely gorgeous in that dress!

You don’t have any excess weight. Go get it altered.

@jennygrl070: I think it would be a minuscule alteration. The dress is lovely don’t stress about it

- Wedding: June 2014 - The Millennium Center
If nothing else, do a body wrap a day or 2 before the wedding to loose a little bit of water weight/bloating.

I just wanted to give an update to all the wonderful ladies who responded to this — I returned for an appointment with the seamstress, and she was able to reposition the dress a bit so it zipped right up and the unflattering “back crack” disappeared. I didn’t need a single alteration on my dress besides the bustle! Thanks bees!!!!
