I LOVE MY MOTHER IN LAW! (and my sister in law!) I feel super blessed---since dating FI, I have gotten two awesome new friends. I am so excited to be a part of their family and soooo glad that we'll be in each other's lives forever.
My FSIL and her husband are wonderful and warm people. They're very welcoming and inviting and love to have fun. They've been nothing but supportive and we love them to death!
I love my in laws too. They are such a supportive and wonderful family. I've sung their praises here a million times, but am always happy to do it again!
I love my in-laws too. They are really funny and super nice. We always get along so great. I never feel awkward around them. I felt like part of the family from the first day they had me over. I was bummed I missed their visit last week because I was on a last minute business trip.
I absolutely adore my SO's family.. We are not engaged yet, but they are always so welcoming and so sweet to me everytime that Im there.. I really do adore them.
I really adore my in laws also! They have always been welcoming and sweet to me! Even though they live in Japan, the time I have spent with them has been lovely!
I too love my in-laws. FMIL is so great...we are going shopping this weekend for her dress. And I especially adore FFIL. FSIL is wonderful as well, although she lives out of state and I don't get to see her as often as I'd like. It's been a few weeks since we've seen the in-laws and I miss them, haha!
I love my in-laws too!!!!
I love spending time with them they are so sweet. FMIL came down this weekend and it was a lovely visit I wish we got to see them more. And FFIL lives in our city and we go to the dog park with him every Sunday and I look forward to it:-)
FBIL lives in New Zealand but I do wish they lived closer because I wish we could have a closer relationship with him and his wife!
I love my in-laws, too! They're all very nice, helpful, and they're SO welcoming. I really feel like I'm going to be as much a part of their family as FI will be a part of mine!
There is a great Yiddish word, "mekhutonim," for the relationship between the bride's parents and the groom's parents. I love my daughter's fiance and I love his parents, I am so comfortable with all of them and they feel like home to me. The fiance's mom and I think we are both going to be just peachy mothers-in-law to each other's children. We all laugh and laugh together. It's a big mutual admiration society.
I love my FILs. My FI and I both live with our parents and I spend more time with them than I do my own parents. They've become like a second set of parents to me and they keep inviting me to live with them until the wedding. Unfortunately, they're moving to Indiana right after the wedding, so we won't see them very often anymore.
I LOVE my In-laws as well. I am really really blessed to be marrying into such a great family. They are super supportive of us as a couple and just genuinely care about me.
My birthday was this week, and I was kind of bummed because my family is far away, so they threw this little family get together for me, and made my favorite cake, and we had a blast.
Both my sister in laws are awesome! One of them actually just left my house, we just hung out and drank wine for a while. And my brother in law (16 yrs old) is so cute, and loving. I have always wanted a brother, and I finally get one!
Yay for good in-laws. FH also really really really likes my family! If only we could all live in the same city!
I can't begin to count all the reasons why I love my FIL's!!! They're fantastic and supportive! Can't wait to be closer to them when we move.
I love my in-laws, too! They are just as much my family as my relatives, sometimes more.
My in-laws are wonderful people! They live about 20 minutes away from us and we go over about once a week just to hang out. Actually, my husband's dad will be driving us to the airport in the morning. He's willing to get up and take us to the airport at 6:45 on a Saturday morning...that's pretty cool! They grow beautiful flowers in their garden and often send us home with carnations and camilias. Even though we're grown-up and married, they give us Easter baskets and valentine's candy because that's what they did for my husband and his sister when they were younger. My husband's parents actually came over to the house we rented about a week after we signed the lease and helped me put down shelf paper, and my husband wasn't even here. Oh, and they brought lunch so I wouldn't have to deal with cooking so soon after moving in. I am blessed to have the best in-laws ever.
They're not my in-laws yet, but I adore my partner's family. I feel like it's a definite bonus to marrying him. :)
I love my in-laws too! My FI's parents are amazing people. They are retired and live in Reno, NV for half the year and in Cabo, Mexico the other half. They really wanted a family Christmas this year and flew my FI, his brother and I out on Christmas day so I could spend Christmas Eve/my birthday with my family. I really lucked out... just wished they lived closer!!!
I wanna play too!!! My FI's family is absolutely wonderful, and I'm so excited to be a part of their family! I taught his two sisters piano and cello while they were growing up, and his brother took violin lessons in the family music studio.
FI came into town last night and we went to his family's house for dinner...we ended up talking for hours about baby names (good names, bad names, hippy names, strangest possible names...)...eventually we were all rolling on the floor laughing like crazy! So fun!!
I also love my in-laws. I love that they are huge family (MIL, FIL and 3 SIL, 3 BIL, 3 nieces and 2 nephews). They are the most welcoming people ever and Im so happy to be a part of their family. The best part is my family and his family get along great! You always hear the horror stories about the parents not liking each other and I neve have to worry about that. They are so accommodating and will do anything for us. For our wedding, my parents paid the majority of it but his parents paid for the rehearsal dinner, hosted the day after brunch at their house, put together the out of town gift bags AND paid for the entire bar bill at our wedding.
Great thread - I've seen lots of threads complaining about crazy in-laws, so its nice to hear about other bees who are as lucky as me to have awesome ones. I actually get along better with my in-laws than I do with my own family (though I love my family dearly), and can't wait to become an official part of the family.
I hit the in-law jackpot. They are warm, welcoming, supportive, and just generally fun people. FMIL and FFIL are super generous. And I wished I lived closer to my FSIL and her husband, because I would have chosen them as friends even if FI had never enetered my life.
I am blesssed to have very nice in-laws. Actually 2 sets, the ex-husband's family is really great too. How lucky am I to have struck gold twice?
I am also blessed to have wonderful future in-laws. They are thoughtful, caring down to earth people who LOVE to have a good time. While I think that I have the very best parents in the world ;-), It is great to have 2 other people who I now think of as parents too! As an added bonus I also have a sister now!! While growing up with only 1 brother who is 11 years older than me, this means a lot! I love my new family!!
I love my FMIL and FSIL! We just had a girl's night last night with margaritas and playing games on the Wii while FI and FFIL were out of town!
FFIL /BIL are so hilarious; they've never had sisters/daughters so the dynamic is a mix between boyish nervousness & brotherly love. They're both such great people, I'm lucky to have them be in my life.
I <3 my FMIL because she is totally on the same page as us. Her son phoned her to tell her that we've actually set a date & etc and before he could even mention what we were thinking reception wise she was right there, suggesting what we were considering.
Not to mention how sweet and wonderful she is! it's all icing, :)
My future MIL is FANTASTIC! She treats me as if I were her daughter (she's never had one). She is so sweet and caring. Love her to death!
ps- SweetAdeline, did you select your name because you actually are a Sweet Adeline- as in singer? I ask because I am!!! :)
I definitely feel like I won the lottery getting mine. They are more like good friends to me, I love hanging out with them- MIL and I like to finish off bottles of wine together :)
I have unending appreciation for them in light of our wedding- my folks weren't coming until the day before, my IL's flew in early and stayed at our house and helped with finishing projects in what we call the "last 72 hours of craziness".
I couldn't have asked for better in laws!!! Mine are so amazing and supportive to not only my FI, but also to me. My FMIL sent me the sweetest email the other day that said "You are so sweet and I'm glad you're going to be my daughter in law!" THey are such wonderful people and I'm so blessed to have their amazing son and them in my life.
I love my IL's too!! My SIL's kids have all called me Aunt since they were born, even though I have only technically been their aunt since October. She said, "when you know, you know." Hubs and i have lived with FIL for the past 3 years, and he has done everything for us. He is like my second dad, I would never be able to replace him. His entire family has accepted me as one of them, and have for years. I totally feel like one of the family with them, and I couldn't be happier to be a part of their family

I love my in-laws! And my step-in-laws too! Seriously. They are kind, funny, supportive, super sweet to FI and me and have been nothing but a joy since the day I met them. I can see a lot of FI in them - it's clear his sweetness and sharp wit weren't born in a vacuum. I look forward to visiting them and wish we saw them more. They make me happy.
We hear a lot about the Monster-In-Law types, but tell me about your great in-laws and why you love them!
