I don’t have dress regret I’m just wondering if a little extra poofy-ness would make this dress look better on me. The dress, for reference, is the Maggie Sottero ‘Gatsby’, and I am 5’11” with barely any curves. I guess I worry that I may look like a boy in a dress being so up and down with very little in and outs! Thanks!

Hmm, I think it’s beautiful as is, but if you’re craving a little poof, I think it would look great with a crinoline underneath. Nothing huge, but a little extra would be nice!

I hear where you’re coming from – I personally think a crinoline would look nice, give it a little more formal of a shape, plus I like gowns with a little more “poof” to them. But in the end, it’s a gorgeous dress and would probably look gorgeous no matter what you do to it.

I would add a little poof – but it is gorgeous regardless

Love the idea of more poof!!!!! 😀

Am swooning over your dress, dearie! It actually looks better on you than any other Gatsby pic I have seen. I like it exactly as is.

Thanks for all of your replies! I am currently waiting for my dress to be made and delivered here in the UK, and when it does I may ask to try on some different crinolines/petticoats and see what it looks like. Thanks for the polite and friendly comments!

I don’t think you look like a boy at all! However, I always love a little extra poof 🙂

Lovely dress but I would add an underskirt for more definition

I was a Gasby bride and pondered the same thing. In the end I didn’t add a thing (except bustle) and it was PERFECT! Got tons of compliments on the drop waist and slim A-Line. So my vote is as-is 🙂

Wow, such a unique dress! lovely on you. good choice.
remember, in the ’20’s the look was all straight lines for women, and an androgynous look was hip. this dress fits with that aesthetic. i really don’t think you need to worry about looking like a boy, however, lol!
i like @rmarie3: ‘s suggestion that a bustle in the back will look nice, and it will be necessary to walk around easily after the ceremony. but I don’t think you need a poofy underskirt. it would go against the intent of this style of dress.

I think a little skirt underneath would give it that extra oomph so it doesn’t lay completely flat. But you DON”T look like a boy and its a beautiful dress!
