I have found two dresses that I absolutely LOVE, however, they are completely different. I knew I was open to different styles and had a wide range of ideas, but this is driving me nuts! I would love to know your opinions on which you think is better. I am having an outdoor garden ceremony at an antebellum home in Roswell, GA. The house is clean, beautful and simple (no tacky wallpaper or antiques lying around). I want to know if anyone has either of these dresses and what they thought as well! :) Thanks!
Mikaella 1406
Casablanca 1827
Oh, I love antiques...haha. Both are pretty, were you more comfortable in one over the other?
Wow! Both are stunning but I think I like the first one better!
honestly they were both super comfortable! The mikaella fabric was great and it was comfortable to walk and sit in, and not heavy at all. The casablanca was very light weight and super comfortable as well!
I vote number one.
Glad to meet another GA bride! Come hang with us over on ATL too!
Without seeing you in them, it makes it tough to pick the best one for you.
If it were me, I would go for the second one; however, since it is you and based on your venue setting, I think that the first one best fits.
Yea unfortunately they don't allow you to take pictures in dresses unless you buy it, boo. But I am petite about 5'3'', size 2. I really love the more dramatic sweetheart on mikaella on me, but the other is so romantic and has a beautiful fit as well and not to mention... its over half the price of mikaella :-/
I LOVE the first one, but I vote for number two because it is more classic looking.
You can always alter the second dress to have a more dramatic sweetheart.
Personally, the second one is my favorite. It seems like it would fit a garden ceremony well, too. The first one is much more modern, so if that's the feel you're going for, then go for the first one. You can't go wrong with either one, they're both beautiful! (And as a fellow short (5' 2") bride, I think the second one would be my pick!)
Good luck!
I was going to say what VirginiaMarie said. You can get them to alter the neckline on the second one to look like the other one.
to be honest i would have to see you in them, but i LOVE the first one, myself =)
this is a very funny post because i was going between the casablanca and one that is similar to the style of the Mikaella. we are having our ceremly also in a garden so that was my reason for going with the casablanca ...but after trying on the other i was blown away. may not go "well" with a garden wedding but it made me feel good, made me feel like me. so thats my advice, whatever made you feel good, confident, and made you get that feel of omg im getting married, go with that one. one that matches your personality. my vote is number one!
I think that both dresses are beautiful, but I am leaning more towards number 1.
Outdoor Garden Antebellum: Lace, Lace, Lace!! Dreamy, Victorian, So romantic. Definitely the Casablance.
I'm getting married in a Victorian Rose Garden so I'm totally going for the lace look. Though Mikaella is gorgeous too...
I almost got a similar Mikaella dress...love it! But the lace is beautiful too! I'm not helpful : )
I love the second dress. I agree with virginiamarie, you can always get the dress altered to have a more dramatic sweetheart. I think a dramatic sweetheart neckline would make it perfect.
I like the second one. It is classic and pretty. The first style is definitely very popular right now-I just feel like I see similar styles all the time.
They are both gorgeous - but the first one is stunning - really glamorous!
The Mikaella was my 2nd choice dress!!! I ended up going with a similar style in a lighter-weight material for my outdoor wedding, but I still love the Mikaella so much!
They are both beautiful, but I prefer the second. To me, it seems like the more unique choice for these days. The lace is beautiful and the way the skirt falls is devine. Good luck choosing!
Wow they are both gorgeous!! I can't decide either, so I can't give an opinion!! Go with your instincts, and don't let cost be the deciding factor. As long as it's not too far outside of your budget, you have the rest of your life to make more money... you only get to wear your dream dress once. Or twice if you do a trash the dress afterward, but it will still be the same dress!!! :)
Typically I love the look of lace like the second dress. I love that shape and the garden feel the dress brings. HOWEVER, after reading your description about the venue for some reason the first dress is a bit more modern (not antiquey) and is absoletly stunning.
Since you can't post pictures of the dress, can you post pictures of the venue?
I love the first dress. The flower on the hip would go well with your venue, and I think the shape is beautiful!
I just love the first one...it's fresh and romantic. I like #2, also, but i'm more drawn to #1
I love, love, love the first one! I really do! So much so that I just had one of those moments when you're like, "oh man, why didn't I see that dress when I was looking?" It is timeless and romantic.
Both are pretty, but I like the Mikaella more. Plus, I think it will look better on your petite frame. I'm also petite, and I found that I really looked best in dresses with less things going on - the Mikaella dress is just cleaner and more streamlined, and I think the shape is better.
I vote for the Casablanca!! That's my dress :)
It's absolutely beautiful and you can do all sorts of custom things with Casablanca, I'm having the zipper in the back turned into a corset actually.. It's just so beautiful, for me nothing compares.. I mean obviously, it's what you love for your big day and you should go with what makes you the most comfortable and whatnot, but I absolutely love the Casablanca, to me it's just so timeless, it's a dress that, when I look back on my wedding pictures like fifty years from now, I know I'll still love it just as much and it won't look out of date.. Just my opinion, though..
Oh, and that picture does it absolutely no justice.. If I had just seen that picture online, I wouldn't think much of it, but in person the dress is to die for..
Tough decision, they are very different, and I like them both, but I would choose the second because of your theme, its so pretty!!!!!!!!! But if you had pics of you in them, it would help more :)
I tried on that Casablanca, I loved it!
Didn't your sales associate tell you how customizable Casablanca is (I visited 3 bridal salons and everyone gushed over that fact)?! You could literally do anything w/ Casablanca gowns. Like if you wanted the bodice of one dress and the skirt of another, Casablanca will make it. My 1966 Casablanca has a scoop neckline, but they're going to turn it into a sweetheart for me and I changed some of the beading on the back. So, really, thats not an issue at all! They can create a more dramatic sweetheart. So yeah, I can't say how amazing Casablanca is... lol!
