That is so sweet and thoughtful! Gosh, I can't imagine my FI (as much as I love him) thinking to do something so meaningful. Its great that you still appreciate what he does for ya :)
It is always amazing when you get a new reminder of why you are so in love with that person that you want to spend the rest of your life with! That was very sweet of him!
This just made me cry. I am so happy that you have someone who loves you as much as you love them!
Aww that is very sweet and I have been with my FI for 7years before we was engaged (so it's coming), and to answer your question YES he do things to remind me how much he loves me and how special our relationship is.
It's hard for me to just pick just one because he is always coming out the blue to do special things for me, but the most recent ummm..... I'm in school and I work too, so sometimes things can get a little stressed and crazy at times for me.
one day he came down to my job and had a dozen of roses and took me to lunch and to the lake. It wasn't much but he was at work too, so to put all that time in just to relieve some of my stress on top of snapping at him was worth every minute.
Yea, I love that man!!!
Aww, thanks ladies! You girls are the best! I literally just left this window open on my computer (yes, I'm guilty of reading the Bee at work! Whoops!), and I was SHOCKED to see the number of comments on this post already! Thanks so much!
@Tanya123: you made me laugh out loud, and I'm glad my story could bring some happiness to others, too.
@roxy821: Awww, bless your heart! Thank you so much! It is a really great feeling, to be sure!
@Nickynick: It sounds like you've got yourself a good man, too! That is a really sweet way to take your mind off the stresses of everyday life!
Today has always been a tough day for me, but I have to admit that every.single.time I looked down and saw this ring, I've smiled.
such a cute story. & Im glad he put a smile on your face in memory of your dad!
Awwww, that is incredibly sweet of your man, and the ring is beautiful! I am sorry about your father, and I think this is a great way for you to incorporate his special place in your wedding. My dad died from heart problems when I was 6 so I cam sympathize. My mom had his wedding band made into a pin that is a curly shape with a little sapphire on each end for me, and my sister got my mom's band similarly twisted into a pin with stones on the ends. I plan to pin that to my bouquet. It is hard to think our dads won't be there to walk us down the aisles, but at least we can keep their memories with us!
Such a great story, sweet guy, and a beautiful ring! Thanks for sharing.
Thats a really great story, it makes the waiting that much worthwhile doesn't it?
I love how much THOUGHT he put into your gift. How sweet!
The day before yesterday I came home to fresh flowers and a chilled bottle of wine. :) He loves to make me happy. I have his mother to thank! She trained him well.
That's so sweet! What a lovely fella! My fella does little things that make me smile. He'll head out to the supermarket and come back with a DVD for me as a treat OR a wedding magazine. Just little things that make my day a little bit better. Plus, he makes me a cup of coffee every night after dinner. Nothing major but after being at work all day I definitely appreciate it!
Aww...this made me tear up. I bet your Dad would be proud that you found such a great guy to share your life with. Great story. Many blessings to you both. :)
This is one of the sweetest things I have ever heard. Your fiance is so thoughtful and he really loves you! :) that's awesome
made me teary eyes just reading about it!! how sweet :-)
Congrats on such a wonderful man! That is so thoughtful, and I think he would love knowing that you are so proud of him too :)

Every now and again, when life gets routine, and you don't even realize that you miss the "newness" of your relationship, your significant other does something that makes you snap to attention and take notice of what a great thing you two have.
Such a thing happened to me yesterday, and I just wanted to share with the hive my little reminder of the good stuff. This past Sunday was Mr. Chicken Wing's and my 6th dating anniversary. (I'm still waiting, and sometimes that's hard to deal with...other times I'm totally cool with it.) I thought we weren't going to be exchanging gifts until this weekend, as we have a weekend getaway planned.
So, imagine my surprise when my doorbell rings yesterday and it's FedEx, and I'm asked to sign for a package that I didn't order. I saw my mister's name on the package, so I signed for it. I was told that I should open it, and when I did, I saw the most gorgeous oval stone blue topaz ring. Now, this is not an engagement ring, mind you. It's part of the set that I will wear on our wedding day - I already have the necklace and earrings, and I was missing the ring and bracelet. Now, I only have one piece left to go.
Some of the questions you may have are 1) why blue topaz? and 2) why did you get it on Tuesday? The answers are simple. 1) Blue topaz is my daddy's birthstone (he was killed in a car accident when I was 10), so I want to have him walking down the aisle with me somehow. And 2) today is the 15 year anniversary of his death, and Mr. CW wanted me to have a reason to smile today.
Am I a lucky girl or what? And because I know you want to see pictures of the ring (who doesn't love a little sparkly porn now and then?), I will show you!
It's days like this when I am reminded that the bottom line for why I've stayed this long without being engaged yet is because this man is worth waiting for.
Do you guys have any stories like this, where your SO was just plain thoughtful?
