So, I ordered the bridesmaids' dresses from China myself from Dressz.com - they were more than helpful, very communicative and they had all 4 dresses made and shipped to me within a month.

My mistake was confirming the wrong colour for the dresses.

I had originally planned a more "aged avocado" shade - Hunter Green.  When I got the swatches, I even confirmed the numbers with them to make sure I knew - but I did it by email on my phone.

That being said, instead of the dresses matching this swatch:

I got my dresses in this colour (excuse FI, he was being a pretty pretty princess, lol):

Now, I'm not freaking out - I promised myself I wouldn't and I put an immediate call in to my MOH who calmed me somewhat, but with everything going on in my life right now, it just sucks, yaknow?

Sorry for the rant, but I felt like you guys would understand.

Ugh! That sucks! Can you dye them? Maybe do some kind of trendy ombre to avoid dying the pretty white detail?

Or start adding in little details to the wedding in the shade of the dresses. That way everything looks cohesive.

Oh no! Good for you for not freaking out! So sorry. I hope you can manage to work that color in or that it still matches. I think it's a very pretty dress and I really like the color. I think it could still match the other green shade in your wedding.

AND was it definitely your error or could it have been theirs? Maybe you can get them re-made?

I like the accidental colour too! It's more of a sea green as opposed to a forrest green. Much more feminine :)

Ooooo, yeah I'm no help either, but I really love the new color! I think it will photograph better than the other color and doesnt scream "I'm a bridesmaid" as much. Its so pretty and makes me want that color now...

And I LOVE the look on your FHs face lol!!

I also like the teal/torquise color better too.  I think you can still pull off a hunter green in your floral accents or in your centerpieces :)

For those asking: It's a "Kraft Peanut Butter Lid" green.  The original plan was green and gold as our colours (I.E. Zelda colours).  So this kind of still works, but I don't think my flowers will work as well.

    Thanks for the support :)

@goldie602:  Definitely mine.  I went back and checked.

I think that it will still work out! Teal is a blueish-green! Good luck, and don't stress, it will be ok!!

Honestly I like the new color better. The first one is a color that would look absolutely horrible on me with my coloring. It has a lot of yellow in it. That said, if it's not the color you want and ordered, then I would think the dress company would need to try to make it right. Either compesate you for the error or remake the dresses.

I think the dress looks fantastic and really well-made. Can i ask where you ordered them from as I am looking for bridesmaid dresses too.

    Thanks! Cool

I think the wrong color is very pretty! It's still in the green family and a beautiful shade. It would look great against any skin color. Stick with them! Colors don't have to match EXACTLY... Besides, too much of the same color is bad.

@tuesdaychild:  This is the link for their bridesmaids section, but they also do wedding dresses: http://www.dressz.com/bridesmaid-dresses-c17

@michiru4ever:  I would agree if I hadn't confirmed the colour myself when they sent me a swatch in my email.  The problem is that I was on my phone, saw a green colour and typed "Yep! That's it!".

@sheepandbear:  He does those faces a lot :)

@Beaukat:  I actually like the new color better, I feel like with that original shade of green it would have looked too Green Bay Packers (and this is coming from a Packers fan).

You could still use those colors together as long as you chose the other shades you used carefully. I think a peacock-type color scheme would make this work, even if you didn't want to actually feature the peacock feather pattern on anything. Change your yellow to gold, add a shade of blue or maybe purple that complements, and it will look great!

Is there any way you can get the right color instead?  Have you talked to the company?  Even if they won't let you return them, maybe you can sell them and still get the ones you want?

If not, I do think it will be okay.  They are still a very pretty color.

i really like it and agree with other posters that it would look really nice to add some blues or purples to your pallette. I love the second colour so it is a good mistake :) you all will look amazing anyhow so just work with it! Everything happens for a reason I think!

I would keep the green and gold theme, and add some teal accents that way it all flows! It will look amazing!! Good luck :)

@Beaukat:  Um, I'm in the minority here, but I like the original color better-- AND I think if you got some yellow and brown fabric dye and play around with it a bit, and test it on a dress lining, you could have the dresses be the right color! Look up Dharma Trading-- they are a fabric art company that carries good fabric dyes. I bet that white decoration could be taken off and sewn back on after they're dyed.

But. . . if you are going to change the wedding colors, go ahead! Teal is very fashionable right now and it is a nice color. :)

@Creiddylad:  I'm with you! I like the intended color better than the finished product.

But the teal is still pretty and, as others have mentioned, you can incorporate it into your color scheme without giving up the hunter green. Good luck!!

Breathe! It's going to be A-ok! I actually really like the color that they came in! You can always keep your "aged avocado" color at your wedding and just supplement with a little bit of the new color to help tie it all in.

    Also, your FI is hilarious!

Allow me to join the chorus, I think the accident color is GORGEOUS. I think if I were your bridesmaid I'd be begging you to keep it. I think it'll look great with whatever you have already, I'm mixing various shades of my colors for things and it's turning out lovely so far. To me that still looks definitely green enough for your theme.

This is actually the colour difference:

So it's not a teal, it's just GREEN. I'm not going to change anything, I'm just disappointed in myself.  All of my bridesmaids are dark haired mid-fair skinned ladies with one blonde/blue-eyed lovely.

honestly, I think the new one is more of a Kraft pb lid green than the other one!

It will still deffinately work with your theme. And the style of the dress also says "Zelda" to me lol
