Oh you made me cry! You have such a sweet husband and family! I am so sorry for your loss but so happy that you have such loving people around you! I need to call my mom now :)
The first years without our parents are the hardest, but I know from experience that they do get easier.
Happy Birthday dear lady! How wonderful that you have been surrounded with such love and devotion on this special day. And the blessing of a grandbaby too!
Awww! This post is my favorite one today!
I am getting married in 19 days and I'm starting to get nervous....but your post helped calm my fears. It made me realize how beautiful it is to have a husband who will love you forever and who will just "get" you and know what you need or what will bring a smile to your face. I just felt such positive vibes from your post.
What a blessing that you and your husband have such an amazing connection. It's what I hope to have with my soon to be husband and will continue to have 28 years from now.
p.s. I might read your post every day for the next 19 days, if any nervousness starts to creep back into my head.

Why I am still married to the man that is the best! I don't usually post stuff like this, but why not, tonight -that is. Tonight I am pretty blown away. (Sorry, this will be likely be long). First, I just want to thank whoever reads this. It is nice to have some female companionship on WB. I just have to share this: Today is my birthday. I was really having a hard time all week, as this one is my first birthday without living parents, and it is a Big One. My mom died this month last year. 2 years ago, while I was working, way too many hours, my mom came to visit while recovering from chemo treatments. While I was working, she would work on building up her strength, and she would clean up my house and ended up putting in an entire flower garden in my yard, with my son's assistance. It has been a hard year for me, without my mom, but I also gained a granddaughter. Tonight my grown children, SIL, two granddaughters and my husband had a very nice birthday party for me. Today, my daughter made amazing food. She worked all on it. My son and son-in-law helped her. Everything was wonderful, and sooo much work went into everything. My favorite drink, appetizers, a first course, entree with homemade sauce, and an amazing cake, all food like they make where we go for our vacation. My husband was just "itching" to give me a gift after dinner, which is very unlike him. Well, it is something he alone thought of, and had specially made and ordered. He asked our "kids" if they thought I would like it or not. Then as he presented me with my gift, he said I hope this doesn't make you cry too much. Then I opened a beautiful plaque that read: In Memory of . . . 1940-2009 to place in my flower garden. Well, tonight I have bittersweet tears. It is so touching that he would do something sooo sweet. I am crying as I write this. . . This is why I will be married to this man for 28 years on November 27.
