I know I know...I should really have not put dress shopping at the top of the to-do list but oh well.  I will try to make this a quick (I promise it has to do with dresses!):  My mom is moving within the next few weeks from living an hour from me to living 2 solid days driving away.  We decided to go dress shopping together (our first time) on New Years Eve but the day before she cancelled on me because of road conditions (damn you Montana!).  I was upset but sucked it up and went with my FMIL and when we got to the bridal salon, you'll never guess who was waiting there to surprise me.  I was so excited my mom was able to come that I am minorly worried the emotions of her being there and it being my first time made me rush into a decision.  My FMIL crying immediately for this dress and not crying for any others may have also influenced my decision.  What do you guys think?  I love it and it is totally me (traditional, not super flashy) but it is the opposite of what I expected (think Maggie Sottero Kendra and S&M Starla).  I think I just need soem reassurance that more people like it than my two 40 yo moms ha ha.  Thanks!

Edit: I am thinking about adding some fullness to the bottom.  What do you guys think?

Congratulations on finding your gown. It looks beautiful on you, but yes, I do concur with you, it needs something under it. I suggest a light to medium fullness crinoline. It will make a huge difference.

Thanks @CupCakeMeg: It's actually strapless but I added a bolero (same designer so same lace and beading) since it will be a catholic ceremony.  And had to add the belt too.  Did I say it had pockets?  Maybe my favorite part ha ha!  So general concensus: not a mistake to order this soon (wedding date is correct)?

I love it! And... I'm 29 if that helps LaughingLOL.

I understand how you feel though. My mother and aunt went with me, both over 60, so there was a point where I felt I needed a "younger" opinion too. Don't stress, its a gorgeous dress!

It's gorgeous! I do agree, however, with adding some umph to the bottom. But it should be really easy to get a crinoline.

I love that dress i think it is beautiful. It is my style though so if you love it you should stick with it. Most of the time your instincts are always right.

I concur...pouffing out the bottom a bit would look great.

Oh, and the bolero is PERFECT with it!

I like it a lot on you.  I think that the other dresses you mentioned are gorgeous, but much more flashy... it's really up to you if you want that much of a statement or if you prefer something more timeless and classic.  It sounds like you lean towards that, in which case this dress is a great choice.  I am no expert on tailoring or anything, but it may look great with a crinoline or something underneaht to add more fullness.

@berkie: I am impressed!  You recognized it even with a bolero and a bling belt added.  Yeah I didn't like the flowers too much on the front and I feel like the bling makes it a little more modern.  Did you know it has pockets!  If I get it, that means I get to hide candy all night while I am talking with guests ha ha!

Thanks everyone for your kind comments and advice.  I think I am sold on it for sure now...with some more puff underneath it at least!  Eeek it's exciting!

@STBSchmidt: lol!! Yeah, I remember it from the new collection, because the top is very similar to mine - Paloma Blanca 4107.  Good choice on the bling belt.  Mine has a flower sash that I was considering changing to bling, but one of my BMs convinced me to keep the flowers :P  Stay posted on what you decide to do with hair and accessories!

I think your mom and FMIL have great taste :)  It's classic and flattering and I LOVE the lace hem.  It's got enough lace without being ALL ABOUT THE LACE.  The sparkly detail at the waist makes it special.  I agree with everyone that a crinoline underneath will make it look amazing.  Beautiful dress!

I think it's lovely.  My only suggestion would be to choose a lighter veil perhaps with a trimming similar to the lace bottom of the dress..but up to you of course!

    LOVE IT

I bought a super modern/fun Pronovias Megan and had fun in it... but it wasn't "right." I wound up wearing a SUPER traditional (Grace Kelly) lace/silk ballgown. I do not regret at all. I still 6 months later get comments about my dress and still get pms all the time on here from people wanting to buy it :) DONT think about if it's "traditional." It's TIMELESS and looks amazing.

    Congrats!

I went into a random bridal salon today with my BFF and tried this dress on and absolutely fell in LOVE with it! Love the bolero too!
