I'm totally planning to wear a pair of Chuck T's once the dancing begins!
I was a BM at my high-school BFF's wedding a few months ago, we all picked our own heels to wear with our dresses, but I planned ahead and brought along a pair of cute flats (ballet style) to change into once we were done with the pics. They were better than my heels, but I was still wishing I had worn sneakers.....so for our wedding....I'm totally rocking the Chucks. Plus Mr HW is all of 2" taller than me so he likes it when I don't wear heels....lol.
I get shin splints too. I learned that flip flops are the absolute worst thing you can wear. It's when the heel separates from the back of the foot. If your sandles have an ankle strap, you are fine.
That being said: I have been on a quest for my shoes. In the process, I must tell you, there are many adorable sandles out there that come in beautiful metallics and have rhinestones and the like all over them! Check out DSW and Payless if you are a bargain hunter like me. But all of the major designers have them too. I work in Beverly Hills and I've seen beautiful sandles everywhere!!!
Today, I just heard of a bride who decorated her chuck taylors with rhinestones and the like! Pick a Taylor in your wedding color, grab a glue gun and go crazy!!! :)
And my fiance is 2" taller than me too. What shoes did you pick? I am having the hardest time. I look better in my dress with heels. grrr....
Check out my shoe posts! I love both pairs, but Mr. Bruschetta (an ALMOST physical therapist -- he's doing interviews right now) wants me to be totally safe and comfy, and so sneakers might be the best option toward the end of the evening.

...but the last pair's not all that gorgeous.
At a wedding last weekend, I switched into flip flops after my wedges became too uncomfy. But then my calves were ACHING by the end of the night, and I feared I brought my shin splints back!
I iced it the rest of the night, and am happy to report that I'm totally fine now. But I'm thinking I might actually bring my sneakers (!!!) to the reception, and switch over to them when I REALLY want to dance and have fun, so I don't have to worry about my silly, stupid falling arches.
And no -- I wouldn't be adorning them with lace, rhinestones, etc. a la Father of the Bride.
Anyone else considering sneakers as dancing shoes?
