This is not motivating me to go and get mine sized. hahaha I hope you get it back soon!
I know how you feel. Mine was at the jewelers for two weeks when I went to get it soldered and then they broke it and then again after the wedding for a few days to get the replacement ring rounded off and fix the uneven soldering. It sucked and I felt so naked.
Mine is taking a trip up to Dallas this weekend with my FI so I definitely know how you're feeling. We are trying to get a band made to fit with it so the jeweler said it could be a couple weeks. Until then, I will feel a little naked.
Man...doesn't it suck! I"m glad we can all go thru it together tho.
I had a horrible time getting my ring sized!!! I was without it for nearly TWO MONTHS! We went into the jewelers and I needed to ring to be sized down. It was just a little too loose on my finger for my liking. They said they would cut a piece out using a laser, and that no line would be seen. I found this hard to believe, but they guaranteed no line would be seen. Well guess what girlies, there was a BIG FAT LINE where the laser cut the ring, and where it has been moulded back together there were little flecks of white gold that stuck out and they didn't even sand down. I was not pleased. I essentially told them they needed to polish the ring and get rid of the line, but I had to fight even for that. Finally they agreed, and now it looks fine. But becuase it was polished twice, I actually lost quite a bit of gold from around the band. And really, the ring ended up being almost the same size as it was originally.
Ugh! Rant over! Your post about missing your ring just reminded me of this.
That's the worst! I really lucked out when I had to get mine sized - we know the jeweler, so he literally did it for us while we waited in the store - took about 10 minutes! But, I know it sucks to be missing your ring ... no fun!
Im gonna get mined sized and shined all pretty before the wedding. im gonna miss her when she's gone.

But yes I'm missing it terribly. It has to go thru this once every 6 months as a part of the insurance thats on it.
It was a Canadian jeweler named Spence Diamonds. They are unconventional in the sense that all their rings are in open display cases with fake diamonds inside. So anyone can just walk in and you can try them on yourself - you don't have to ask someone to bring a ring out for you. The you order the ring from them and they custom make the band and setting with whatever size diamond you choose. Overally I was happy with them, but NOT pleased with the way they handled my re-sizing.

My E ring had to be resized and I missed it so much! I also have to take it in soon for an inspection and I don't want to be without it again!! :(
I actually picked out a "diamond" ring that looks similar to mine for $25 with my fh last time and that helped so other people didn't know/ask ;)
i left mine at home one day on accident and i missed it so much i twisted a paper clip around my finger- just so it wouldn't feel weird.
When I had mine size, I went to the Jewelry Doctor (though I think it might be a local place). He sized it right there in his shop and had it ready within an hour for me to pick up. He did SUCH a good job, too. I couldn't even tell he'd done anything. I've sent rings to get resized through places like Kay's and they always have this notch at the bottom where you can see they cut it, but he completely welded my e-ring back together. Kays even sends it away for a week! I was completely amazed.
I just had mine sized (after having a crappy ring guard on it for months!) and it was so strange not having it on! I missed it so much and it was only gone about 24 hours!
When I had to go get the sizing balls put in my e-ring, I had to talk myself into it. I hate, hate, hate being without my ring.
