Oh, that screenshot makes me so happy.

I would find it interesting to see the actual stats on traffic. I imagine the number of clicks has gone up thanks to the ridiculously few number of posts per page. But I do imagine the overall number of visits has gone down, as well as the number of posts. It feels slow!

I think that maybe the site revamp was to accomodate the other parts on WB. I don’t think the boards are really the priority.

Yeah, I’m with you.  At first I tried to be open minded about it because it annoys me when people are change averse (ex, anytime Facebook changes anything).  But the reality is they used to have the best organized and functioning forum of anywhere on the web (that I’d tried) and they took out the secret sauce.  I find myself typing in weddingbee.com out of habit but then not finding it satisfying to click around anymore.  That said, I do think they’ve made the blog much more interesting and engaging…but I don’t personally care about the blog so it’s not a draw for me.

Honestly, I’m kind of glad they “ruined” the forums as I was way too adicted and was wasting too much time here.  Hopefully this will help me cut the cord for good and be more productive!

Does anyone know exactly WHY the mods won’t just put it back the old way? What’s the reason?!

I used to post dozens of times a day, and although I try to stay active, I only post a couple times every day or so. I miss the old WB 🙁

I found that they’ve added a few things recently that have made navigation easier. (Ex. the context menu that appears when you click on a board category (Ex. Nesting) the drop down menu with the sub categories appears. That makes it easier than the old bee to get to those categories.

When I first joined the old bee, I actually hated it because it was so different than the other communities online and I found it really hard to get use to. Once I got use to it though, I was fine. Then change to this, again there was a learning curve, but the boards themselves haven’t changed. I think in time, everyone will get use to it and they will continue to improve.

I’m barely on at all (and my post count speaks for how often I was on before. I think I’ve posted ~5 replies since the change, and each time it feels like a burden). There are too few posts per page so if a thread is multipage I will just read the first and the last page at most. Most threads I just don’t click on, it doesn’t seem worth it. On my phone, the page numbers aren’t even there, so I don’t ever check the bee on my phone anymore. Twice I’ve had a commercial suddenly fill my screen instead of the thread I was slowly loading. I just close the tab and pass on the bee for a few days after that.

I’m moving on to other ways to fill my spare moments and those are starting to become my fun new habits. Yes, I’m adapting to change, just like I always do, but not with the bee – instead, I’m adapting away from it.
