Thanks for the suggestions ladies, I've added those to my must listen to list.
Keep 'em coming!
I just heard this song for the first time this weekend and I think it is it!

FI loves Louis Armstrong so I found this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NDgncPD0bew and really like it so I think I'll ask FI what he thinks and see if he likes it.
We're dancing to "Feeling Good" by Nina Simone. We were the same way--no "our song," but didn't want to be sappy. We're huge jazz and blues fans, so were throwing around Frank Sinatra, Bobby Darin, and Louis Armstrong. We like Michael Buble too, but wanted something a little less "boy-next-door," hence Nina's version!
You could do Ray LaMontagne "You Are the best thing". It's kind of jazzy, but still a good pace for a slow dance. We're using Van Morrison's Into the Mystic. Van Morrison has a couple other ones that are good for first dances too.
you are welcome to download my song list for special dances (its a pdf file that you can save or print!) http://tsgweddings.com/downloads/TSG-Song-Choices.pdf
good luck!

So FI & I don't have a song, never have etc. We can't find a cool song to share our first dance to. I wanted something untraditional that was a little bit of a medium paced (not fast, yet not slow) romantic song. I heard one on the radio the other day and we both loved it but I forgot what it was
I know it was an older song, 70s or 80s. Any help on some good 1st dance songs that aren't really slow and overplayed?
