I need one of those donut pillow things to sit on. Somehow I've injured my tailbone (coccyx), and there might be a fracture.

Anybody else have any tailbone issues? (I feel like such an old lady!) I need some tips on how to make this thing stop hurting. I feel strange icing my butt. lol

I don't have issues w/my tailbone but my knees definitely creek and crack sometimes!!

Oh no, I haven't had any tailbone issues but that has to be one of the worse pains!  Get yourself a donut so you can feel better :)

My knees are usually angry at me because I have angry scar tissue. A few years ago I burst both fluid sacs in my knees and cracked a kneecap. Hellooo college basketball. :p

Got really giddy when I saw donut but then I noticed it was in the wellness section and my enthusiasm disappeared.

Yikes on the tailbone.  Sorry, don't really have any useful advice.  Just hoping you feel better soon.

@CW- Lol. While sitting in class today, I was like sitting gingerly on one side of my bum and I'd switch sides. Apparently I was really antsy, and my friend sitting next to me asked if I had to use the potty. lololol.

Also, my dumb butt ran this afternoon. I'm stubborn.

Aw man, the title of your thread totally made my mouth water.  But tailbone pain - that stinks.  I had it a few years ago - definitely a donut helps, as well as heat.  Do you have a heating pad you can sit on?

you know I bet a nice Krispy Kreme would help in this situation as well....

    Um, I want a donut.

But really, I second hamster...heating pad might help!  Or a regular pillow, temporarily??

Lol, yeah, I'm a jerk for this post title. :p Y'all love me.

@ggsb- Did you take the pillow around with you? I'm a little stressed out about doing this. It's already weird enough being the giant walking around, much less the giant walking around with a pillow to sit on.

I seriously can't stop thinking about a donut now.

I don't know about everyone else, but I am dying to hear how you hurt your tailbone in the first place.

What'd I miss?  Bees, just got back from a food run.  In front of me is a small coffee and a Chocolate dipped donut.  Anyone want a piece?

@50:  On your tummy, good idea.  Oh and I'd totally carry a pillow around.  Change the pillow case and voila...accessory!

Sadly, rubber donuts are less fun.  Feel better 50 foot!

Lol! Maybe I'll just shove it into the Neverfull.

I have no idea how I hurt my tailbone. They think it's because of the way I paint. (Wow, I'm exciting. :p) I do large-scale portraits [read: 4'x6'] and sit on the concrete cross-legged to paint. I rotate the canvas around. I can get the closest that way. I'm 'eccentric.'

yep I carried around with me.  I had one of those small travel pillows and just upgraded to a HUGE totelike bag for that two weeks.  So when I was walking from office to car, etc the pillow was in the purse/bag.

I suppose if we lived somewhere cold you could just wear a fluffy down jacket and then sit on it ;)

    Mmmm!! Donuts!!

Sorry about your tailbone! It sucks having to sit through classes like that! Tylenol, rest, and heat should do the trick. If not, your doc can give you an injection of cortisol that should help with the pain, and let it heal.

Yeah, my everyday bag can hold like a house. Well, 400 lbs. Maybe I just will do that.

Or I could just put a pillow in my jeans since I don't have a butt. lol. Maybe I'd look more normal. (I'm built like a pole).

I broke my tail bone on a boat (porpoising too fast over waves + teeny me in the captains seat = broken bones). It suuuuuuucks.

Sit sideways. If that's not possible, get the donut. I looked oh-so-cool carrying that thing into work every day. Other than that, nothin' you can do. :/ Feel better!

@RB- I am so accident prone. I think it's because I'm all limbs. I forget how tall I am. I'm like the Mammoth in Ice Age 2.

@krissycake- lol! Me too! I'm a total LV whore. My mother's fault. That thing is seriously giant though. You can sort of see it here in reference to my body. Pretty giant, even compared to a 6'3" land monster. :p

@Fifty: your posts always make me laugh! I was so hoping this was about some pumpkin donuts but then read about your tailbone. What a bummer. Get yourself a nice plastic donut - maybe make a designer donut cover for it? - and get better soon!!! And sit on a cushion while painting girl!

I hurt my tailbone, twice actually, and it still hurts. Cannot sit for long periods of time, car rides are horrid. definately bring a pillow around with you, i still have one when i take long car rides (not driving). Hate to say you may be like me and never get better, but hopefully you do!! I hit mine minorly the first time, and the second time i chipped it (both horse related). If yours is just soreness from the floor, sit on a pillow there and maybe it is a bruise and will go away!

Lol. I'd much rather it be about actual donuts. I'll take some of those, plz.

Hopefully it is just bruised! Words like "stress fracture" and butt don't really go that well together. :p
