I feel your pain - I'm always terrified when I go get a haircut. I never know what I'm going to get and to add to the problem, I'm completely blind without my glasses, which you have to take off to get your hair cut. Now I'm living in Italy and even more terrified because hair vocabulary is *so* idiosyncratic that it doesnt matter if you speak the language or not. I may just put it up in a bun and not take it down... forever.
Lol...I hear you! It's driving me crazy and I don't know if I should just suck it up and go somewhere or not.
I found my current hair stylist by asking every one I know
- who does your hair?
- do you like him/her?
- would you recommend them?
If someone told me their person was "okay" or "alright" then I kept looking until I found someone that LOVED their stylist.
Love the hair inspiration! I LOVE my stylist...its too bad you aren't from Clearwater! She gave me the Victoria Beckham inverted bob at one point...and various other versions of it since then...I know the frustration you are feeling if you can't find a good stylist that you trust (especially as a short haired girl...its extra scary!).
Katiebut I LOVE that haircut!!
Well girls I cut it last night!! Totally not what I was expecting but I am loving it so far!
It's very chunky and I am still learning how to style it!
LOVE. IT. I am a HUUUUGE fan of the asymetrical victoria-beckham bob. LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!! :)
Thanks! I need to practice styling it...today wasn't the best day.
Cute!!
My sis got the VB haircut days before my wedding. She is so lucky she can pull it off but it looked AMAZING on her...
I wish I had the... balls, to cut my hair like this! It's so cute and low maintenance! I think after the wedding I'm gonna go to the shoulders, then possibly work my way up. It's so tough when you've always had long long long hair!
No way I have the guts to cut my hair short - I think that's one of my comfort things about long hair. Worst case with long hair, I'll be a ponytail/bun girl for a few weeks until it grows out...
Thanks girls!! I did no better with the styling this morning :( I bought a new product that is supposed to make my hair super soft and frizz free but it's making my hair greasy!!! It's an Aveda product too.
So I am a hair stylist at an Aveda salon. That cut is absolutely wonderful on you. My question is what product are you using? my guess is that its one from the smooth infusion line. If its feeling really greasy, try using less of the product, you really don't need that much. And keeping it on the ends of your hair.
If you still haven't found the perfect stylist, keep asking your friends for referrals and look at the website of salons in your area, you may find a stylist at one that you want to meet. Most places offer free consulations too. So you can always meet with a stylist to see if you mesh well before they cut your hair.
Hope you have a happy hair day tomorrow!!
Your hair looks great!
I wish I could pull of a bob like that! Right now my hair is just past my chest/the middle of my back. I need a haircut too, but I'm scared to do it!
I really like Sienna Miller's hair too! VERY cute. It's a little shaggy-r than some of the other cuts. Gives you more room to play and do different things with it.

But I have two problems...one I don't know how I want it cut and two I don't know where to go. I love my stylist but last time she didn't cut it how I asked she cut how she thought it would look best....which I appreciate but I really think I want to go shorter with it. How do you find a reliable salon/stylist??
