Bug hugs! What does your husband do?

DH took a job for this winter where he was going to be working at a construction site 3 hours away 4 days a week. So he was just going to stay there those 4 days. I was not looking forward to it.

He got switched to a site one hour away last minute so now he can stay home.

So I can’t relate , but the stress of thinking about him leaving was hard enough, so I can only imagine how hard it is for you. Be strong!

Wilson2Bee:  ugh. Sucky. My guy’s a hard worker too. I love that about him. 🙂 But it’s good that you got 6 weeks with him!

My husband is in the trades too, he’s a boilermaker, so he travels for work quite often. This year he’s been gone a ton, more than any other year. I can commiserate. It’s nice for us as I don’t work and can usually travel to see him once a week or so. The last month, Dh has been on loan to the pipe fitters so he’s been working in town, which is great and it sounds like they are going to be keeping him until the new year. It’s so amazing to have him home for this long of a stretch and still be working.

Wilson2Bee:  as someone who’s been in a long distance relationship for the past two years, I can can totally relate.  The first week after separating is the absolute worst.  But once you get into the groove, it gets better.  (((((((BIG HUGS)))))))  LDR isn’t easy, but it’s doable.

One of the things I like to do to get me through the time is have a countdown.  You can get  a free app (I use Reminder Free) and I put FI return date.   Then when we text or facetime, I always say: “Only xx number of days till you’re home!”.  It’s nice to look forward to.

Wilson2Bee:  Yeah this year has been pretty hard 😛 I did get to go with him to a few nice places but when you don’t get to spend alone time in a regular setting, it just feels weird… Your couple’s dynamic kinda shifts and you have to work to get it back. But he’s worth it ! 🙂

Thank you for your kind words 🙂
