I love to read! Lately I haven’t been reading at all because I just haven’t found anything to pull me in! I like all genres and have read the games of thrones already! I know people will say that one! I do love a good series. Bees help a gal out! What are you reading?!

I’m reading ‘Big Little Lies’ by Liane Moriarty. As a mom, I can really identify with all the characters. It has definitely held my attention so far and it is pretty intense. I also just saw it is now a show on HBO, so I will definitely check that out when I’m done with the book!

Currently I am reading Scrappy Little Nobody by Anna Kendrick. I love her, so I am really enjoying the book.
I also recently just finished Still Alice by Lisa Genova and it was SO good. I definitely recommend. I could not put it down!
I also just finished Talking as Fast As I can by Lauren Graham, which I definitely recommend if you like her/Gilmore Girls at all! It’s quite funny and an easy read.

I just finished “The Good Girl” by Mary Kubica and really enjoyed it. It is a mystery, and definitely a page turner.

I just finished “The Underground Railroad” by Colson Whitehead — it was so powerful. Definitely worth reading. It was even better than I expected it to be (thought it might be overhyped) — it deserves every accolade it’s gotten.
Currently reading “Lincoln in the Bardo” by George Saunders, which is also good — the structure is a little weird, but you get into it very easily.
If you like non-fiction, “Beyond Words” by Carl Safina was fascinating — it’s about animals’ emotions, thoughts, “culture,” etc.
One that is old but that I just recently read that I loved is “Love Medicine” by Louise Erdrich. Her “The Round House” is also great.
Hmmm, a lot of these are a little depressing/serious. On the lighter side, I thought “Where’d You Go, Bernadette” was hilarious.
And I was totally going to say Game of Thrones, but I won’t! 🙂 Another fantasy I recently read is “Uprooted,” which I really enjoyed.
Those are what I’ve read recently & liked. Love to see what others recommend!

Just read “Girls” by Emma Cline (library! even though recent best-seller). Very interesting, about the cult culture in the 1970s and being a teenage girl lured into one.
Now reading “Small Great Things” by Jodi Picoult.

stillme : you have GREAT taste in literature. I’m reading Underground Railroad right now and have loved every book you mentioned (except Lincoln in the Bardo, which is on my to read list)
moto5522 : if you like thrillers, The Couple Next Door is one I recently listened to on Audible and enjoyed. I also really liked the Lilac Girls. A Man Called Ove is also excellent.
I set a goal of reading a book a week every year. Last year I was a little behind my goal but I read some great books. My favorites were Commonwealth; The Summer Before the War; and Girl Waits with Gun.

I’ve just started reading “All the Light We Cannot See” by Anthony Doerr again as well. Easily one of my favourite books. So beautifully written. Really recommend this one.
