Okay, photography has always been very high on my list of important wedding things. I knew that photography would be expensive because, you know, “It’s the only thing you have to look back on.”
But Oh. My. Word… I just had no idea exactly how expensive they would be. My goodness.
I want a great photographer. One that my fiance and I can work well with and be comfortable around. One that takes stunning pictures and can take charge of our take charge families.
But, I don’t want to have to spend an arm and a leg for that.
I have already spoken with about 3 dozen photographers. Many are out of price range, many are already booked for our day.
I’d love to think I could stay around $1500 for our wedding photography and still get gorgeous pictures. Is that too much to ask?
Any ideas for photographers in the Panama City/NW Florida area?

@lindythomps: I’m getting married in Panama City Beach, and the photographers are hella expensive. My venue has preferred vendors, and I think there were maybe 10 photographers to choose from. I contacted 5 of them and no one would have been under $5000 for the day. I was not expecting that area to be so expensive, a big city like NYC or Los Angeles I could understand. But I guess they think people with money are coming to have destination weddings? I don’t know.

@lindythomps: Kim Stone Photography is amazing and works in the Panama City, FL area. I think her prices start around $1500 but I don’t know what all that covers. Personally she is an amazing person and her work speaks for itself. Her website is http://kimstonephotography.com/. She also has a facebook page you can find by searching for her that shows some of her work.

I have grown up in this area, so you would think I’d have more connections to great photographers. Obviously not.
I’ve looked at so many different photographers… my head is spinning!

I’m sure you can find someone for $1500, you just have to be realistic with your expectations. For $1500 you’re either going to get someone with limited expereince all day, or someone with expereince for a few hours. It’s just not financially feasable to run a business charging that kind of money for an all day wedding.
It’s better to have a good photographer for 4 hours and love your photos, than a crappy photographer for 8 hours and hate your photos.
