have you tried allure?

this is Allure 8526

Allure also has many gowns with silver embroidery, but i’m not sure whether that’s what you want…

Yep – I saw two on Justin Alexander’s site just a few moments ago. Both are drop dead gorgeous.

Demetrios has some as well, mostly in the Sensualle line I think. I know Maggie Sottero has a bunch – did they just not work for your? Or did you mean the stores you’ve tried don’t carry them in silver?

Did you just not like the silver Maggie Sottero ones?

I found a bunch on her site that were strapless with side ruching and silver, just by searching for “silver”

What other things are you looking for, in the way of line and embellishment?

When they say pay, do they mean buy the dress, or pay a charge for them bringing in a sample?

I had a few MS samples brought in for me, and I had to pay £25 a go (I was quoted as much at £50 at some places), but the shop would knock that off the price when I ordered my dress from them (I didn’t in the end, my dress is Enzoani).

Sometimes the sample was the exact one used for the catalogue shot, so if it’s on the website in silver, then the one you’d get sent would be silver.

I don’t think I came across a Maggie supplier that wouldn’t order the sample in (the charge is for shipping), so it might be worth checking. I know when I’d ask, there’d be a lot of “ooh, well, we can get it in, but you’d have to pay….” going on, but what they meant was a shipping fee, and I felt that even £100 was worth it to not waste £1000 later! (At this point, it’s worth printing off a list of suppliers, and going through them one by one – some shops are much more helpful than others!)

If you absolutely can’t get the sample brought in, then it might be worth taking a photo of the dress you want to a MS store, and then asking them to bring out dresses in a similar shape/cut. All MS dresses have a very similar basic construction, so you should be able to get an idea of whether that shape/style looks good on you or not.

Good luck!

they might mean that you have to pay for the shipping in order to bring it in.  I was a dress store who specialized in the sottero line but didnt have a dress I wanted to try on and they said i would have to pay the shipping fee and that that fee would go towards a dress if i ended up buying one. but the sottero and sottero/midgely lines are definitely worth looking into! her dresses are GORGEOUS!!! 🙂
