My friend originally planned to have her wedding at Baldwin Hall in Millersville. It was definitely affordable, and a bit quirky, too. but I am not sure what you mean by "unique", so it's hard to say what will or won't work for you. Have you looked into public parks? Or what about your own neighborhood? I know in Annapolis it is super cheap to get a permit to shut down your block and have a party. If that's the vibe you're going for, have at it! keep looking and thinking creatively. You'll come up with something.
Have you tried the Maryland Science Center? I used to work there and they have a gorgeous rooftop tent with views of the city. I haven't priced it, but people I know who have done receptions there say it is affordable for the city and it's quirky since it's a "different" kind of venue.
I doubt that would be in our price range. And I'm super picky. Here are some of my requirements:
1. $1,500 or less for the venue
2. Allows outside catering (I have a family friend who is giving me an awesome deal)
3. No carpeting (I hate halls/hotels/etc that have carpeting - gross)
4. I would like the ceremony to be outside, but if i rains they need to have a back up plan
Here are two options I'm considering, but I'm not "married" to either one of them:

I went here today and it was still set up from the wedding the day before. I'm a little concerned because the ground under the tented area at kind of worn out and looks like if it rains the day before the tent is put up it's going to be muddy. I am super scared of rain.
I also went here today:

I liked it because it was air conditioned and kind of a blank slate for decorations. Having AC is awesome and you don't have to worry about bugs. There is an option to have the ceremony outside and if it rains there is a small barn. It was a nice place, just kind of blah.
Do you guys know of any other options like these that would fit my criteria. I know I'm super picky, but it's my wedding, Dang it!
I second the science center. It is where my reception is. It has the best view of Baltimore available, plus their on site co-ordinator is AMAZING.
@sbharkness83: How much does it cost to rent there what is the general price point?

HELP! I need a wedding venue in Maryland! I've called a million places are they're all booked on September 29, 2012. I've even asked about dates close to that date. All booked. Here is what I'm looking for:
Affordable, unique, allows outside caterers (I have a family friend that is going to cater for cheap), close to Annapolis or Baltimore
