This is another one of those “should I or should I not have kids” posts. To make a long story short, when I see a baby or a toddler, I’m instantly in love and want one so much. I can’t imagine not having kids. But, I don’t really like school-aged children. I babysit a lot and get really tired of the incessant talking and super hyper behavior. Does anyone feel this way? Did you have kids anyway? I’m scared I will have 2 or 3 kids and then they will all hit school-age and I will be a terrible mom. Any advice?

I have two kids and I can honestly say I enjoy them more as they get older. My 8 year old is very fun and interesting, while her 8 month old sister is nice and cute but babies are harder to deal with. The 8 year old can do most things for herself and it is fun to see her learn and gain independence. The baby is completely reliant on me, which is fine, but I look foward to when she is older. This is just my personal experience, some people just enjoy babies more. But I doubt you would have a baby and then stop enjoying it as it got older!

hmmm, well I never much liked toddlers or babies, but I think my son is awesome. Because he is mine, all the little tiny things he does that are non-events to everyone else are just so fun and interesting to me. When he was an infant, I was worried the toddler stage would not be fun, and I love it. So I am trying to just believe and *hope* this continues 🙂

Yea some children get on my nerves when they talk nonstop and are hyper. and I’m having kids anyway. I figure children take on the demeanor of their parents, and most annoying children have annoying parents that made them that way. I’m kinda hoping my kid doesn’t turn out to be annoying to me… we shall see… there’s always wine… 😛

I tell my husband I want our kids to stop growing at the age of ten! lol I am ready for a baby, but not a teenager, but I expect with age and watching your child grow will make it easier. Thats why it takes a while to get to that age, hopefully you get ready for it.

@JessyMess: Yea, I am still worried if we have another kid I won’t like him/her or find them annoying….since most kids DO annoy me 🙂

I totally understand and felt the same way. I really didn’t like other people’s kids but I adore my own. 🙂
Did they ever drive me crazy, sure…but it’s really not that bad when they are yours. 🙂 It’s worth it!!
