With 168 days to go i am feeling, at times completely lost. I am gettign unsolicited advise from every angle
I am having the brides maid dress custom built, because i cannot find the color i like in the design that all the girls like.
Now that i have finally found the dress and they LOVE IT. It is exactly what i pictured in my head months ago. Found the perfect fabric and the person who is sewing the dresses. HERE IT COMES!!
And this is not from my bridesmaid……..I think you should add some color to the dress. How about a green band, how about a yellow band. I am going crazy.
What does everyone I talk to about my wedding wants to offer advise.
You should decorate the church yourself.
You should have the men wear this
Why did you choose Chocolate Brown, Why Green Why canary yellow.
Why did you choose that hotel for your reception.
I AM GOING CRAZY!!!

I got tons of that too. Most of the time I was just able to say, “thank you for that, I will take that into consideration” . Once, I kind of blew up. I had a guy, who was not even invited to the wedding, tell me that my guys had to wear tuxes with vests, they just had to! OMG! Who made him the fashion police!? I think that it just goes along with the territory and people really are trying to help. Just keep telling yourself that and smile, nod, and thank them, then continue to do it your way.

It’s your day- people will always think they know better. Try and keep calm as hard as it can be – I find replying with a question always helps. For example ” why are the dresses that colour?” – response ” why do you ask?” ” because I think red would be better” -response- ” is red your favourite colour?” ” no I just think it would go better” – response ” oh in what way do you mean?, better with the theme?” – just turn the tables and exhaust their patience. They’ll get the message. Make them think you are taking their advice on board and then do exactly what you want anyway. They’ll give up on their suggestions before you know it.
