My husband and I are renewing our wedding vows in Astoria, OR in August and I am having a ton of trouble finding someone that is available at a decent price. We just want a simple ceremony and a sand ceremony to include our son. Does anybody know of anyone???

Would you be open to getting one of your friends or relatives ordained? It’s pretty easy to do online these days, just google for more information! I know at least two couples who had a friend get ordained and officiate their wedding.

@krc721: Yup we’re doing what @elysion: said about getting a friend to get ordained. If you’re ok with writing a lot of the ceremony (so as not to put too much pressure on the friend to do so) and your friend is ok with public speaking, I think it’s a really cool way to go. You need to check the state laws to make sure that kind of ordination is allowed, I think.

@krc721: Hi fellow Oregonian! I am using Amber Scheifelbein. She isn’t really listed anywhere, but she ordained and she’s honestly one of the sweetest people that I have ever met! She only charges $150 (including travel, our wedding is in Lincoln City) and all of the money goes to charity. PM me if you want her email. 🙂
