Okay so I wil be getting married in December and will then be moving to Alaksa to be with my husband. He’s in the Army so that’s where he is stationed. Wellll, I am not done with college yet and wont be for another 2 or 3 years. I have been thinking about other careers I could start without a college degree so I could help my husband/family financially but I’m not sure what to do…

Can you transfer to a local school in Alaska? I think it would be better for you to get your degree since there is so much competition out there for jobs.

I have to say- I think you should finish school before starting a career. I think you might regret not finishing. Can you transfer to a college in Alaska?

I would also try and transfer to a college in Alaska, at least so you could do your studies part-time while you work.

I am living apart from my husband this year to finish teachers college. As much as I love him we both know how hard I worked for my degree and I dont want to resent him or the military for giving it up!

you could also take classes online while you’re in Alaska and then pick up a part time job, if you feel you want to contribute. i agree with the other bees that finishing your degree will be a real asset to you – especially in military life when you’ll be moving and having to get a new job. you’ll be glad you got it done sooner, rather than later. my FI and i are getting married in january, and likely PCS’ing next fall. i am going to start my masters degree long-distance online and then finish up once we’re settled. there are lot of options! contact your base’s education office – i’m sure they’d be able to help get you some information, too.
