You can also just start visiting city/county rec areas if you want trully outdoors. I know the flower gardens in Sac are popular.
@beeliever: thank you sooo much! these are very helpful! I like the sierra 2 center, its a great price and very nice location! thanks again!
Sequoia in Placerville.
Old Sugar Mill
Empire Mine State Historic Park
Governor’s Mansion
Grand Island Mansion
Bella Vista Bed & Breakfast
Powers Mansion Inn
As mentioned above the Grand Island Mansion is AMAZING and super affordable. We are getting married there next May.
Some photos for reference. :)

I got married at Granite Bay Golf Club. They were AMAZING! The food, the service and the coordinator were awesome. They worked with me a lot too as far as price is concerned and I got a great deal. Hopefully for 40 guests they can work something out for you as well. :)
I just emailed Turkey Creek Golf Course in Lincoln and it sounds REALLY reasonable. I have not checked it out in person though. Here is the response email from the food/bevverage director with some pricing info:
Thanks for getting back to me. We have an all inclusive price on all our weddings and private events. The cost is $33.00 per person and that includes ceremony location and chairs, room rental, linen, setup, food, cake cutting/serving, cleanup, tax and gratuity. The only extra charge would be for a dance floor if you want one, it would be $200.00 for the setup. As for the alcohol, you can set as much of a limit as you like, we do have a full bar so if you want to include that in the tab your more than welcome. If you want to do appetizers only, it is $4.00 per person per appetizer. If you want appetizers with dinner buffet it is $3.00 per person per appetizer. I will send you a menu, on the last page you will find the cost and all that is included. We are the most reasonably priced golf course venue in the area.
Sounds like a great deal! The menu they have published on their webpage states that appetizers are $2 pp with the $33 dinner buffet...so you might want to bring that up in reference to thier $3 offer
@MissLilly:Yeah...I noticed that too after I looked at their website...I will be bringing it up for sure whenver I do decide to check the place out.

Hello everyone! I am in great need of help. We have moved our wedding once again due to the high price of weddings (sad face), we are now having it in 2012, but i still am having so much trouble finding a venue that i like and can actually afford. If any one knows of any outdoor venues in the sacramento area, even in placer county would be fine, please let me know. I am trying to have a vintage feel type of outdoor wedding, i would really only like to spend up to $6,000 on everything total. We are only having up to 40 guests, if that. Any information would be very helpful,
Thank you!
