I need a good kick in the pants. I am completely losing focus on my wedding details. Right now i am trying to design our DIY invitations. I really don’t have a theme like other girls, just that my wedding is eggplant/black/silver/white. I have a candy bar table and will probably do chocolate bar placecards. I was going to accent the reception with b/w details just to give it a little contrast. I love Ms. Crab Cakes invitation style so I will be using that as a template. http://www.weddingbee.com/2009/04/01/crab-cake-invitations-part-iii-the-big-reveal/.
I just feel bummed i dont have a theme. My FI met at work because he’s in IT and I had computer problems. So i was thinking of piggybacking of Mrs. Lovebugs "The Sweetest Type of Love" and using typewritter font on everything and maybe a typewritter. I couldn’t find any computer type of graphics that would be cute. We live in NY but the wedding is in FL. So it’s hard to do a destination type theme becasue i have family in FL and it’s not a "destination wedding for them".
And I also want to Gocco stuff too.
I am soooo confused.
Any advice/help is greatly appreciated !

I wanted a theme but i am going with cheap flowers and i don’t know what they are (I was thinking the image of a peopny or something) and I decided to settle on a fleyr de lis. I just liked it as an image so it’s going on everything to tie things together. I would find an image you like and go to craft stores and see if you can find a stamp or paper punch you like that goes with your look like dots or rounded corners or something it will make things feel together.

I wouldn’t say we have a theme at all, but we do have one aspect that is being used everywhere (DIY cakestands, invitations, card box, etc.). Maybe come up with a monogram or design element you can use through out your wedding items.
I’ve been planning our MN wedding from CA, so I definitley know how you feel. What has worked for me when I was frustrated from a project, was just to walk away. Maybe work on something else and come back to the other project. Ask your FI for his advice. My FI has given some great feedback (and I definitely didn’t think he would!).
As far as your invites go, look around at different websites and bookmark what you like. You’ll probably see some similarities with them and you can add the elements you like into your own invites!
It will all come together! Just take a few deep breaths!
