Are you getting married this August? I'd just wait until he gets a job. If it's after the wedding. Just put it in as a wedding announcement.
Or you could say he's a consultant or free lance, or something like that.
I'd skip the job part, but I guess if you have to put something, the consultant idea is a good one.
You are not required to put the job part in the announcement... Leave it out.
I would leave it out too and to keep the flow, I would leave yours out too. I think if you leave his out and mentioned yours, it would stand out.

We want to announce our engagement however my fiance is laid off from his job but expecting to go back within a year. We are getting married in late August. My question is how do we word the part where the groom works for --------??? Any help one this??
