For my vintage retro 50's housewife theme bridal shower. It's in the beginning of March in PA so its going to be COLD! I want something I can wear again.
I really need some help finding a dress for my bridal shower and I found a lot of possibilities on this one site. They aren't too costumey so I can wear them again after the day.

LOVE either 1 or 7. I'd lean a little towards 1 since it's more wintery and seems to fit March, but 7 is just so darn cute!
6 b/c it would fit in for a bridal shower and it's a winter white color. I also love #2 but it looks more for a lounge or club. #7 I LOVE bc it definitely fits your theme but would you wear it again? I guess you could in the summer so I shouldve voted for #7!
@MissStumptown: Every dress is from lily boutique! Really affordable! I want every dress!
@nl: Yes. In fact being that you are pale skinned, I would choose one of those rather then the black one. :)
@gelaine22: I love 2 and 6 too! I love them all but i was originally thinking 6. It has the same feel as my gown too. Do you think it has that vintage vibe? I like 7 for this event but i will be cold, will have to find a matching cardigan (Another chore) and I dunno how much i'd really wear that one again....
@nl: I think 5 would, but 4 is chancey! At least from my pale experiences.
@KCKnd2: Those are so cute but jus tout of my price range. Thank you though because it gives me a point of reference for style ideas!
4 or 6 for the theme... the other ones are more like a working woman during the 50's (think secretrary) rather than housewive. I would check out http://www.bettiepageclothing.com for inspiration since they might be out of your price range :)
I have this one that I might wear to my afternoon tea bridal shower

@MissStumptown: I'm actually leaning towards 5 because it seems like my size isnt available in most of the others!
I love all of them but #1 is my absolute favorite!! Depending on how long it is, that could totally work for a business casual office! #7 is fun too but for March in PA (I live in the Harrisburg area) I don't think it gives you enough fabric. Plus, you can pair #1 with black tights if it's really cold, not so much with #7 since it's so summery.
@reebs83: Turns out it looks like only 4 and 5 are in my size. :( That really narrows down my options. I found a pretty dress on this site for my rehearsal and the color i wanted isnt in my size now either! So i think I'll have to go with the other color.
I like the lighter colors though because my shower is shabby chic, so the blacks and the darks really dont go.
@littleluli: I agree that a few look more like mad men.. 60's secretary.
@nl: reading your description I've voted 1 as it's going to be cold and something you can wear again
Since all but the mint one is unavailable in my size... what are your views on this one from modcloth?
http://www.modcloth.com/shop/dresses/demure-in-luck-dress#reviews_header
@MissStumptown: This paleness is my biggest concern. I am very fair and was worried about the pink one too. Do you think the mint would be ok? I posted another one in a link that was orange, but I like the mint better.
@hikerchick: I think it's going to have to be 5.. the sizing on most have them I liked has sold out, even since when I checked it last night!
@nl: I really like the mint and it will look great! The reason I say the pink wouldn't do well is because it will wash anyone out who has pink undertones, so I would stay away from anything like that.
I like 1 but my goodness how cute is 7.....torn betw 1 and 7! Get both!!
Dress 2 is a stunning LBD, but if you wanted something a bit more fun and colourful for your bridal shower - I'd have to go with either 5 or 6. You could always team them up with a cardigan if it's cold! :)
Omg I love 5 and 6! I would choose 6 for a bridal shower because it is white.
What are your wedding colors? Personally, I don't think any of those dresses evoke the 1950s. If that's what you're going for, you need something with a full skirt and a conservative top like this:

If you don't care about the theme, then I'd pick something white, ivory, or in your wedding colors.
@Christy42213: I do love that dress but I wouldnt wear it again. Unfortunately I dont think FI liked the mint one, and the other one I was going to order for the rehearsal dinner from the site. And it turns out, as I posted above, that most of these dresses sold out of my size really quickly so it seems i'm back to the drawing board. :(
@nl: Try Rent the Runway. You can rent designer dresses for as little as $50. It's super easy and really fun. I've done it about 4 times now and never had a bad experience.
I voted for #1 because it looks like it can easiy be paired with black stockings and a cute cardigan.
The others look kinds spring/summery to me. I love them all, but #1 I think would be best for the season :)
@Christy42213: I signed up. I didnt see anything I really liked in the vintage feel, but it's good to know about this for future stuff. Thanks!
These are all so cute! Where did you find dress 5? It's exactly what I've been looking for!
@aicila: Yeah I think I saw all those on modcloth, unfortunately i wouldnt get a chance to wear any of those ever again. They do have some cute stuff though!
5 or 7 ... I LOVE number 2 though but its not really housewifey
