I know, I know. 1) I shouldn’t be doing it – but seriously, we’re still 5 month out from our wedding! I didn’t think anything would be bought yet!
and 2) the two purchased items on our list are NOT things I registered for! [ETA: These are the first purchases made so far… 125 registered for, 2 recieved! Exciting words, but confusing results…]
I registered for a salad spinner; a different one has been bought. What!? Why!??? Plus plastic salad tongs that I didn’t register for.
I’m curious whether it’s an error and someone else’s purchases got recorded on our registry. You know, like a technical error.
So … does anyone know how to see who gave a gift from Bed Bath and Beyond? Thanks!

Funny thing, is that this post made me say, “Oh man, I haven’t stalked mine in days!” So, I immediately logged on to do so. I think its normal, I know tons of people who have done it. I guess its a good thing you did it, you can figure out what happened. My registry with Crate & Barrel got screwed up.

You can always return it and get what you want. I have been registery stalking lately, but I have 3 months to go so I’m not expecting much right now.

I had some things bought that weren’t on my registry, but were similar. I found out from the guests that the store they went to didn’t have the exact one I wanted any longer in the store (but online) and bought the next closest thing!
You can always return it for what you wanted instead! 🙂

People won’t be upset if I get the one I want instead of the one they buy?
I’m so so so afraid to offend people!
So do you think I should take the first spinner off the list?

I got yelled at by my sister who is also a Bridesmaid or Best Man for stalking my registry. She said, “You’re going to know what all your gifts are going to be.” Correct me if I’m wrong but I think that’s kind of the point of the registry anyways isn’t it? So I’m trying to hold back from peeking but it’s killing me.

I’d take it off the list and when you get the salad spinner, exchange it. The one giving the gift won’t know you did it, right? (Just don’t invite them over for dinner if you’re having!) Who knows how these mistakes happen but its no biggie. I’ve had to do it too.

People will not care if you return it for the one you want! Most likely this person isn’t even someone that you see very much (because they probably would have waited to buy the gift). I’m guessing it’s someone who can’t come, those were the people that sent us gifts that early. You aren’t going to be able to see who it’s from until it’s delivered (there should be a card included and the invoice will say who ordered it).

I think it’s necessary to registry stalk- that way you know if anything has been discontinued.
I personally LOVE that stores let you buy “close” stuff and show it on the registry. Usually when I pick out something, I think.. “yes, I do want a toaster” but I don’t know which one…..nor do I care….. andI don’t want to pick out a $12 toaster if someone is wanting to spend $25 on a toaster,
nor do I want a guest to decide NOT to buy me a toaster (even thought they really want to, and they just live giving out toasters) because I picked out the $50 one and they only want to spend $30….
….does that make sense? I think what the store has in stock also has something to do with it 🙂
Is there a big difference in the Salad spinners? I would say remove it from the registry and exchange after you get it if you decide you have to have the original. That way, you are being honest when you send the thank you for the salad spinner and how often you are using it 🙂
