Hey lovely ladies!
I am finally making headway on my DIY invites – I have a belly band around the middle and want to tie a cute little ribbon around it in a bow BUT I am finding it so frustrating to get a nice bow! It won’t lie flat, or horizontal and I’ve tried everything (different tying techniques, posts from the other bees and the tutorial from the Container Store).
Is there something that I’m forgetting to do? I do the two "bunny ears" method and I find it so hard to get a nice looking bow and one that will actually sit flush with the card. Would it be too lame to have just a knot (aka give up)? TIA!

Depending on the kind of ribbon, could you tie it, iron is and then slide it over your invite?

check out this post by Mrs. Emerald
I made bows like this for my favors and they turned out great, but instead of double sided tape I used FABRI-TAC from Jo-Ann Fabrics.

alternatively from Mrs Emerald’s solution, you can do this:
- cut a length of ribbon long enough to wrap around your invitation and secure it in the back of the invite.
- Then cut a smaller length of ribbon and tie it in one knot where you would like your ribbon to be.
you can see an example of this here: http://bp0.blogger.com/_cGLWtcohzxs/RoUhD_lCc6I/AAAAAAAAATk/6_53l_ghByM/s1600-h/DSC_0014.JPG

Hope that helps…
