Fiance and I made the decision over the weekend to move the wedding date up to October 10th, 2015! We even went to our venue (which is a winery) and reserved the date. It’s official. Our ceremony and reception will be mainly outside. So there will be plenty of fall leaves changing in the background.
However, I don’t really want to use orange, red and yellow for our colors in the wedding. I don’t want it hugely incorporated in the bouquets and bridesmaid dresses. I still want fall colors but not that combination.
So I need help. What colors are you using for your fall wedding? Any ideas that you can give me for colors? Right now I am considering navy blue and mauve. But Fiance has requested a small touch of Halloween in the wedding so I don’t know how that would work with navy blue and mauve. Another idea I had was light sage and pumpkin colors. That would work better with Halloween.
So help me out, ladies! What colors are you using? Do you have any suggestions for me?

LadyBlackheart: design-seeds.com has color palettes
This one is perfect foa winery wedding
If you use pumpkins for the “Halloween” touch, you can paint them any color you like.

I’m having a fall wedding mostly outside and… The trees will be the only orange/yellow/red happening. I’m using the colors I like and ignoring the season. Do what you want! And I don’t think you need to use orange as featured color to honor your FIs request.. Just have Halloween treat favors or something and call it a day! Imo orange is ick.

MrsBuesleBee: Lol I am also not a fan of the color orange, at least not as a dominant color.
I love all of your ideas so far, ladies! Another idea I just found on Pinterest: What do you think of cranberry, dusty blue and orange?

I am getting married 10-10-15 – date twin! Fi and I love fall so we will be using a lot of natural colors but I am also incorporating burgundy and egg plant which are very complimentary of the season but not the traditional fall colors. Good luck !

I used purple with accents of orange and green. And I used gray as our neutral to prevent that whole orange/purple/black = halloween thing. (We got married Halloween weekend and I wanted seasonal but not Halloween.)
Dresses and tuxes were gray. Invites used Violette and Botanic invite pieces from Cards & Pockets (used Flame for some invite lettering). Orange came in mostly in the flowers because I asked for seasonal – oh, and the groomsmen wore deep orange ties. You can definitely use “fall colors” in bits without it overwhelming the whole thing – or (like others have said) if you hate them, don’t use them! No rules that you have to use a special group of colors.
I don’t have a picture of our centerpieces handy but here’s what my bouquet looked like:

We’re using eggplant and burnt orange for our Oct 17, 2015 wedding! You had mentioned not wanting orange but I think the eggplant color is great for fall! Navy would be good too!!
We’re doing something like this….

SkinnyLatte17: Agree with PP about using colours you like! I’m using pinks, creams, golds, browns, some dark blue and sage green. And it’s a winter wedding! Haha, my colour and style choices mainly reflect a spring wedding but I don’t care. If you make it your own it’ll be beautiful!
I really like the dusty blue and cranberry. but it all depends on your theme as well.

- Wedding: October 2014 - Cape May
I like cranberry and gold or a warm metallic color. Autumn always reminds me of warm colors. I’m an October bride myself and this is the color palette we were both inspired by.

LadyBlackheart: I love this thread! Everyone’s suggestions are gorgeous combinations! Although I am way behind you (we are still ring shopping), the crazy planning/perfectionist in me has most of the wedding already mapped out!
I, too, want an October wedding date and I have a B&B winery at the top of my venue list. The colors I have in mind are VERY neutral, as I want the colors of autumn to sort of “speak for themselves.” I’ll be using mostly light/heather grey, gold, and creams for my colors — as of this point, anyway!
I think that autumn bouquets/floral arrangments will really pop against a more nuetral scheme. To me, navy is a nuetral (on the grounds that it matches most all colors), but I agree that the sage/pumpkin will give you more of the “touch of Halloween” – my favorite holiday, btw!
Here is a good aesthetic reference of Halloween done right in a classy-wedding-type way! I hope this helps!

My fiance’s cousin’s wedding was in the fall, and it was beautiful. Her colors were plum and black with orange accents, and it was very sophisticated. The bridesmaid dresses were plum, her shoes were plum, and the flowers were all orange. It was beautiful, and very different from the fall weddings that you think of as “typical,” but still worked beautifully with the season 🙂

We picked Sept 26, 2015 and our colors will be shades of blue and green with bronze and antique gold accents.
I think that it’s going to pop spectacularly against all the fall colours!

I am using a mustard and sage color palette for my fall wedding. Dresses, favors, centerpieces, accessories, venue decor and bouquets are planned according to the color palette. Just hope.. they should go perfect together.
