Why not have both as maid and matron of honor. My cousin is getting married 6 months before me and will be my matron of honor and my best friend since I was young will be my maid of honor. There really was no other way I am equally close to them both, we were all roommates just a year ago. They will be splitting the Maid/Matron of Honor duties and they have no problems with it at all.

I vote for one as maid and one as matron. Personally, I would be happy to play either role, and wouldn’t be offended if there was another Maid/Matron of Honor in the picture. 🙂

I don’t see anything wrong with having both. I’d think they’d appreciate being included.

Are you still very close with your childhood best friend? If so, I would say make her your Maid/Matron of Honor – sounds like she’s a sure bet to stick around for years to come too 🙂
But you’re also close to your new friend, which is great!!! So maybe ask her to be a bridesmaid?

There’s no reason why both of them can’t stand up with you. I think they would both be honored, I know I would.

Like everybody else, I see nothing wrong with having both a maid and matron of honor. If I were either of your friends, I would be just as happy sharing the position as I would if it were just me.

I think you should have one as a maid of honor and one as a matron of honor… that way you’re honoring them both.

I had one matron (when I married the x) and one maid of honor. I couldn’t choose b/w my lifelong bff and my sis who is my other llifelong bff
Now when I am marrying T next summer, there will be 3. All matrons (2) and 1 maid of honor.
I’m not distinguishing between any of them. They’ve been by my side through the good and bad times and they’re all so special to me. In some cases I believe rules (or even perceived ones) are made to be broken!
