Ok I really want to do a ribbon pull to bring some southern charm into the wedding as well as the fact it gives all the single ladies something! I’ve never liked the bouquet toss, I feel its sad the bouquet someone spent so much time on often gets ruined. There is only one problem! We are doing cupcakes! I don’t want hands all over the cupcakes but I think the best idea would have the ladies completely lift the cupcakes for the charm but I don’t want to force anyone into a flavor they don’t want. We are having 3 different flavors, so there is a variety. The cupcakery can make a 16in cake but we already declined that and signed the contract. Also I found a website that has charms or you can do pendants, now I’m not sure which to get. Any ideas?
Much love and thanks for the help ladies!

I’m confused. What is a ribbon pull and what does it have to do with cupcakes and charms?

@Mrs Hedgehog: A ribbon pull is when tiny silver charms are baked or frosted into the cake. An attached ribbon is left hanging on the outside. The bridemaids pull the ribbon and reveal a charm. Each charm has a meaning. Horseshoe for luck, and baby means fertility, etc.
@redrosewolf: What about making a separate breakaway bouquet, and attaching a charm to each flower. When you toss it the flowers will separate and each lady can grab one. If you use silk flowers, it would make a nice keepsake for the ladies.

@nikkialys: Thats a great idea! I never thought of a separate breakaway bouquet. Silk flowers are all I’m using so I can use them again!
