I love the blue/grey/silver/white scheme! Seriously, they're such soft, romantic colors. Or you could do a burgandy/ brown... it's wintery without being Christmassy! OR my favorite- an all WHITE wedding. Goodness, I love those.

And yep, I checked once wed and stylemepretty already too... they're on my google reader as well. (And so are you, fifty! But of course, you didn't have any winter posts.)
I was looking for you on stylemepretty and got side tracked!! There are pretty boards on there if you want more inspiration, but if you were open to other colors!! But I do like the colors you want, sometimes I wish I picked gray!
Look at this beautiful wedding. I know it's not winter, but it could be winter-ized.

I was pleasantly surprised when she liked it. Very.
She and I both want to throw a kick-ass wedding. She has doubled my venue budget basically because she now wants something prettier, lol.

I actuall love the idea of an all white and ivory reception, with a little bit of green and brown in the florals and gray/silver accents. Unfortunately I can't find that picture. ;)

I agree with you I do not like red at weddings at all. I think winter weddings are so cute! You can make them all warm and holiday like( if that makes any sense!). I think whites and blues and grays would be beautiful! I found a wedding that was very wintery just wanted to share some details.
O. M. G. spaniel that pinecone cake took my breath away! That is soooo perfect!
And the other two... the lighting is dead on. I want the place to sparkle!
I'll let you all in on a little secret... my wedding may be in the middle of one of the biggest christmas light displays in the country! :) You have to drive through the light display to get there, since it's in a park. But we don't know if that's what we're going for yet... or even if it's 100% available!
ahh too big, and I just had a page pop up that said slow down you move too fast. Havent had that happen before!
Aw! If you get it to work July 11, I'd love to see it! Lol I love those "Slow down, you move too fast" pages. It makes you wait thirty seconds after the original posting... so I start counting when I see it. :D

I was thinking something like a plum-purple w/ silver or ivory. Still festive, still dark elegant-ish, but a little less expected than blue or green.
Ok one more! And ill just have to forget those other ones for now. I was just thinking today if I had a winter wedding I would have to wear one of these shrugs!

Omg yes I love the faux fur shrug thing! I was thinking of wearing one, and having my BMs wear little muff things instead of flowers, perhaps!
yes muffs! My moms friend still talks about how she never got the wedding she wanted. She wanted a winter wedding and her BM with muff covering their hands! Totally cute!
the knot's last magazine (the one with the blue background) had an awesome spread of a winter wedding .... it was bluey silvery and gorgeous. if you can still get your hands on that issue (i think it's still out) then check it out. those are actually the colors that popped to mind when i saw the beginning of your post, before i saw that it was actually what you were considering. i think that is totally the way to go!!
Lol yes I have it! I did love it but it didn't apply too much b/c we don't get snow here... in fact, it could be 70 degrees! So i'm not going to go too winter wonderland-ish, I think...
... and by that I mean no snowboots. I realize I should have clarified. Lol!
jalter, how did your STDs turn out? Well, I hope! :) And is there a new knot mag out yet? I looked today... but I did pick up the MSWeddings Destination Wedding one. I'm not having a DW for me, persay, but for 3/4 of my guest list it is, so I figured why not. :)
@cinema...oh well :( so even though i totally get that the snowboots didn't apply...what about the color scheme? i just remember it being soo gorgeous...and that says a lot that i remembered it because other color schemes/spreads don't stick in my head like that! i also LOVED that picture posted above of the table with the white flowers and candles....AHH now you are making me want a winter wedding!!!

I did love their scheme. She had a lot of silver (it's page four in my book of inspirations. LOL!) and it really set off such a nice, upscale vibe. I'm going to look for your PM right now!

So as a lot of you know... I had to postpone my date. My new date means, well, christmas wedding. I'm ok with that, but I need really good christmas/winter inspiration WITHOUT the color RED. I just don't like red in weddings, I don't know why, just a personal preference.
I'm leaning towards a slate blue/gray/silver/white scheme, but I wouldn't mind some winter green or something else entirely terrific. And to save you a little time... I already looked at anything Snippet and Ink had. I just need something not from my normal blogs, so if you have something from your blogroll etc help a girl out please!
PS - why do we not have a decor board?
