OMG its going to be amazing. The mermaid bottom is really going to show of your curves. If you got it flaunt it baby, TONS of women would love to have that body and be able to wear that type of dress.
I think you will fall in love with it all over again the second you get it!
it looks beautiful! it's already super flattering on you and will only look better when it's actually properly fitted to your body.
When I saw the first picture I actually said "wow!"
The dress looks amazing on you and you are going to be a beutiful bride!!!
Thank you all so much!! I feel much better!! It's terrible wondering if you picked the wrong dress hehe!! I'm just trying to tap into the memory of how much I loved it then. I'm already a totally indecisiver person, so the fact that I went thru with ordering it should indicate that I LOVE it, I just am freaking out... :)
It looks beautiful!
I actually did the same thing with my Jasmine Couture dress; I picked a dress and then had it made with another dress's trumpet skirt. I was really unsure about how it would turn out but it came out great! It did take a bit more alterations to the skirt to get it as fitted as I wanted, but that is all part of the process. I'm sure yours will be wonderful!
This is the dress I'm thinking of getting! I went to the store and tried the sample on (again) this weekend. I'm curious... how exactly is the bottom of your dress going to be modified? Is it just going to be more fitted and flare out a little lower? I'm dying to know what you got them to agree to customize, because I love this dress, but my only hesitation is the fit/shape of the skirt. I would like it to be slimmer fitting through the seat and the hips, and flare out starting more at the knees, rather than the hips. Wondering exactly what it will look like when you get it...!!
@EsqBride5810: Hi! The bridal salon I went to said Casablanca will do anything pretty much anything. I altered mine to fit exactly like you are describing, it is fitted to slightly above the knee and them softly flares out. I specifed that I wanted the same skirt as 1957. That dress fit exactly the way I wanted it to (not as awkward as the pic on the website). I would definitely recommend trying on 1957 and seeing if that is the skirt style you are thinking of, then just order it with a skirt change the way I did. The bridal consultant said they do it all the time and it always turns out great. It only cost me about 125 to change the pattern.
If you can put off ordering until december, I'll post pics or pm you pics of the final version. She did clip it to show me the more fit and flare shape at the store but we didn't take pics of it :( It was just... sexier :) And I figure if it is mega fluffy I can have them remove a layer of that tulle that they stuffed the bottom with hehe.
That's great info to have! Thank you so much! I know what you mean about the shape... I felt like the dress made me look wider/hippy-er (is that a word?) when it wasn't pulled tight across the seat/hips. Much more flattering when it's a little slimmer fitting. I LOVE the dress, but want to be 110% sure they can make it the shape I want. I'll have to explain to the store that I want the shape of the 1957. That's good advice, thanks!
Unfortunately, I can't wait until December to order. My wedding is before yours even -- June 4. (yikes!) But please still post pictures when the dress arrives! I'm 99% sure this is the dress I'm going to get and I'd love to see how yours comes out.
Mind if I ask how long the bridal salon told you it would take to get the dress? I was told about 5 months.

Ok, so I have officially ordered my dress, and now that a couple months have possed I'm freaking out!! Please give me your honest opinion on this dress... It's Casablanca 1914, but I changed the skirt to have a mermaid like Casablanca 1957. So this is me in the dress at the store, but my actual dress will be 3 sizes smaller and fitted to the hips. Is it flattering? Would you wear it?
My fiance swears I'm just nuerotic because even though he hasn't seen it, he swears me and my friends all came home so excited just swearing we found the perfect dress. I'm hoping I'm just forgetting how gorgeous I felt in it in person... because looking at the pics I'm startig to doubt myself!!
Ignore my face in those ones hehe, I was talking. I don't plan on looking so bored on my wedding day!!
The last pic is of the skirt that I had mine changed to. I loved the cut of the satin one on, bt the material of the lace one, so I paid a bit more to customize it to what I liked best :)
Is anyone else out there having dress panics while waiting for it to be made?
