So i have been watching what I eat and excercising for about a week and a half and I already lost 5 pounds! I am super excited and so motivated but I feel like I need to do a cleanse to get rid of all the gross stuff so that I can continue with my new healthy habits…Can anyone recommend something that worked for them?

I remember a previous thread you wrote like this so I know this isn’t really the answer you are looking for BUT:
The best cleanse is to go on a completely natural, unprocessed diet. Only fresh fruits and veggies, nothing that comes in a package, etc. Cut out all drinks except water (black coffee and unsweetened tea are probably okay too). Once the processed junk is out of your system you should be feeling amazing!

since you’re a chicagoan…karyn’s (natural food store/restaurant) offers one several of my coworkers did and they LOVED it. think it might be kind of expensive, though.
i’ve totally given up on the losing weight thing. but i do want to try for after the wedding for long term. i make no sense.

Your body doesn’t need to be cleansed. Your bowel and colon do a VERY effective job all on their own. I agree with the pp who suggested eating a lot of unprocessed foods and fruits and veggies.

I did a 7-day green smoothie cleanse. You need a good blender though and a very well stocked fridge. The cleanse consists of all fresh fruits (nothing dried) and various smoothies with fresh juice or water bases (mostly fruits with a little leafy greens for vitamins). I didn’t find this cleanse to be all that difficult and wasn’t hungry.
If that is too extreme for you–do a low/no-fat diet as the other bees mentioned. No animal products and no oils. Eat only raw/lightly steamed veggies, simple soups, fresh fruits and teas. Grains can be constipating and sludgey in your digestive track…so try to avoid them. Use potatoes instead for fullness. Or you can have added benefit by avoiding starchy vegetables–but you will surely be hungrier..

Go to a local store like a vitamin cottage or organic store like whole foods. They normally have a ton of stuff to recommend
