First of all, I am having a dress made, and the structure of it is dropped waist, strapless swarovski rhinestone adorned corset, with big poofy tulle skirt – ballerina/ballgown I guess it’s called? I haven’t yet picked out a veil. What length etc. kind of veil should I wear with a dress like this?
Also, I’m only having one person stand with me; what type of dress should I choose for her? My wedding will be black tie. Should I have her also wear a ball gown type of dress or what? I’m so confused!
Thank you for any suggestions

I would go with a 2 tier elbow or fingertip length. You don’t want to take away from your dress. I have the Winnie Couture "Marrissa" dress which has a dropped waist, almost a trumpet. It is totally covered with swarovski crystals, so I went with a two tier fingertip length veil. Careful not to take away from my dress.
As for your maid of honor, whatever you want. I would probably put her in something floor length, maybe even a sweep train (providing your gown has a train.) So no, I don’t think that I would put her in a tulle gown. You want to make sure that all eyes are on you. You want to stand out. So be sure that she isn’t wearing a dress too close to yours.

I agree with Mrs.C2be about the veil. You’ll have enough going on below the drop waist- you don’t need another veil layer.
As for your MOH- I would go shopping with her and let he pick what she wants. Since she’s the only person- the possibilities are endless. Head about to some stores and start trying stuff on!

Thirded. Fingertip sounds like the right length for your veil. And I’d let your MOH pick her own dress. I would definitely avoid tulle, but that doesn’t mean avoiding ball-gown. Maybe you can hit the mall in a few months during some post-prom sales.
