I am a bridesmaid in my sil’s wedding. I ordered my dress three months ago online and I got exactly what I ordered but the dress is two small almost two inches around my ribs. I’m making an appointment with a tailor to see if the is anything she can do. Otherwise I have to completely order a new dress which would take a min of 8 weeks and the wedding is in nine.
Anyone have any suggestions? I really just have no idea what to do other than buy amother $200 dress and hope it comes in time. or put weird side panels in the dress so it is bigger. The dress is bill levkoff 675 in pewter. I’ve been scouring the Internet for a used one that is bigger
and the dress is suppose to be charcoalish or some kind of grey and it looks lilac. Her colors are teal and grey and it just looks like an ugly color. The other girls really can’t afford to buy another dress after spending 200 on this one
i just feel so bad because its my fault it’s to small but the color is also bad but the dress is cute everyone I just don’t want my sil to stress over this and I feel bad for her about the color but i feel even worse my dress doesnt fit
i just need someone to say this is what we are doing, so what should I/we do?

I would probably order it online from somewhere like House of Brides and pay the rush fee.

order a second dress NOW in a larger size and hope the first place will let you return it and get your money back…

I’m sure they can rush it. This just happened with my sister, her bridesmaids dress took like 10 weeks to come in and was too small so they got her a new one in a week.

If you find the right tailor, they can fix it. Just go to them ASAP!! Last year i was in 2 weddings where when i ordered the BM dresses i was 2 sizes smaller than when the wedding rolled around. And one of them was a Bill Levkoff dress. It can be done!

Would your SIL mind if you got a corset back put into the dress? This is the best way to make a dress ‘bigger’ if you can’t order another one.

Unfortunately, it’s likely that it cannot be let out two inches. Seam allowances are usually only 1/4″.
Both Wedding Shoppe Inc. and Best Bridal Prices can rush the order in 7 weeks (WSI is $40 extra, BBP is $80, though WSI’s dress price is $30 cheaper anyway).

Thank you for your comments everyone it really helped! I ordered another dress and I ordered a used one online (for cheaper) that was strapless just in case.
The bride lost one maybe two of her other bridesmaids so hope I don’t cause her to much trouble she doesn’t need it.
