I am a size 30 and found a dress at David’s. My consultant was fabulous and knew exactly what to put on me. I DID NOT want strapless but she had me try it on with a bolero and i loved it. I attached a pic….the dress i tried on was size 26 so i’m squeezed in there. 🙂

Aww sweetie, there’s a dress out there for everyone.

One of my dearest closest friends, who is also a plus sized lady got a dress at Davids and she looked beautiful….  Have faith, everyone has their ‘thing’ – the thing they worry about when getting married…i know you’ll find something, and when you do – you must show us!!!!

Aw I bet you’ll find the most beautiful dress, we all have our figure hangups, it doesn’t matter what size you are. I’ve lost a lot (a LOT) of weight, so I know what it was like feeling like that, and wedding dress shopping is a 100% removed from normal dress shopping. They just have structures that work brilliantly for any figure, because it’s in the store’s best interest to tailor to every. single. body. type, they make more cash that way!

Check out this say yes to the dress, she was a plus size and looked aboslutely gorgeous, not to mention, is one of the sweetest love stories. In fact, everyone should watch this, it will make you cry.

your size shouldn’t scare you off, there is a dress out there for everyone, no matter what shape or size you are!!  I agree with DB, you will for sure be able to try on dresses there and get a feel for what you like and don’t like. Be open to trying on strapless and things you might not consider, I did and fell in love with a dress I never thought I would like

Don’t worry, just called some shops first to see what sizes they carry so you don’t go to be disappointed.

Don’t get into anything that makes you feel uncomfortable and tell the stylist exactly what you want. If you really don’t want to go into a store, ask a seamstress to make you a beautiful, one of a kind, dress that makes you feel as wonderful as you deserve.

Trust me…..I understand your fear…I left looking for my dress until the absolute last minute because I was dreading it….I  felt disgusting, embarrassed, disappointed, and that I wouldn’t find anything..

But trust me, its not as bad as you think! Yes there might be some dresses there that you want to try on but can’t…..but there will be so many more there that will fit you like a glove and make you look and feel like you have never felt before.

You will really be surprised……I was

just as others have said – there’s a dress out there for EVERYONE – my SIL was plus size (around your size, I believe) and her dress was beyond gorgeous on her! My Maid/Matron of Honor is also plus size and was simply stunning on her wedding day.

take the advice as you got on this thread – you’ll try on some dresses you HATE and then you’ll find THE ONE that makes you feel like the most beautiful woman in the world!

I feel your pain. I am a 26 and really nervous about trying on dresses too but I have been assured that there is a dress out there for everyone. I would suggest visiting stores that you know have larger sizes (DB & AA mainly). Your guaranteed to find something there. I have personally been eyeing the ‘Unforgettable” line by Bonny but I’m not sure what sizes they go up to.

Hello there,

I thought that I should add a comment, as i have photographed all shapes and sizes. First off, look for a dress that fits your curves and stays in place up top. If you go with a strapless a wonderful lace up back will give you a secure fit with the added benefits of creating a waist line that will be deceptive in photographs. Also look for a dress that is proportionate – don’t get anything that goes too high or too low.

The biggest thing that I would recommend is making sure that you feel absolutely stunning. Your confidence will appear in the photographs and transcend any discomfort you have in your weight.

Feel beautiful, and thus ‘bee’ beautiful 🙂

Good luck with the search.

I’m a plus sized bride (18-20), but managed to find a DB dress that made me feel beautiful.
