I have a morganite engagment ring and I love it, when its clean.
I should explain.. when we got my stone it was already quite light in color (blush pink) and in the almost two years Ive worn it, its been bleached out by the sun even more. I work with hair and kids so my hands are in and out of water and because of this Ive noticed is that its hard for me to keep it clean/sparkly.

Lots of women have morganite here and they love theirs and their stones have a better color than mine so Im sure theirs have held up a lot better.
So my advice is choose a stone with good color saturation!!! Lol. 🙂 Good luck!!

I started a similar thread and got no reply. so thank you to above poster! we picked it as my engagement ring. I love it so much but do worry how it will wear. Would love to see more picture of what they look like after a few years (or more) wear. Also if it gets scratched can it be buffed out?

Yours has a beautiful color!! If it does get scratched the only thing you can do is have it re-cut/polished. You’ll lose the tiniest bit of your stone but it will be like new again!!

Thank you! @metalkisses I hope so. Bleaching wasn’t even something I had thought about. More worried about chipping

@Bridey77:  I have had my ring since Oct 2012. It is in amazing shape but I do take it off when washing dishes, showering or doing anything crafty. It gets very cloudy/dirty easily. My stone probably appears dirtier quicker because it is a step cut.  The color is the same as when I got it. So far it has held up beautifully. And because I love posting pics…here you go. So many…I couldn’t help it. Please feel free to message me with any questions.

@Lizabean:  your ring was what inspired me to pick morganite over a diamond!

@TG123:  No way! That is crazy!  Well your ring is spectacular. I hope you are super happy with it!

So funny cause when I picked my ring I had no idea what it was and never looked into it further. I didn’t expect to get a proposal. I just showed him what I liked which was my ring. I liked it because it wasn’t a diamond and I loved the very subtle hint of color.

Now being on the bee I see so many gemstone rings…I feel apart of a club and I love it!

How long have you been engaged? Congratulations!!!!
