We gop to bed at 9 or 10 every night, and we don’t like going out, we’re too old for that shit. There’s nothing wrong with that and it doesn’t make us lame. Get new friends that enjoy the same things you do

Seriously why don’t the two of you just go out to a new bar/pub and enjoy it?  I have almost no friends that are social, but when you go out on NYE the atmosphere is always what makes it fun.  Don’t go out too early or you’ll get bored wanting to talk to people…wait until around 10 and go somewhere that plays great music.  There are great places in Chicago online that you can go to for dinner too…which is definitely going to be a lot of other couples just ringing in the new year.  Here’s a list  http://chicago.metromix.com/stories/2569-chicago-s-new-year-s-eve-parties

@AquaGrey8962:  different people like different things. I like going out, but there are times when it’s nice to stay in and relax. Also, I sometimes go to bed at 10. I wake up at 5:25 every morning and am on my feet all day, so sometimes by Friday I’m exhausted.

Well, you sound like a real peach. On NYE, I’ll be watching the ball drop on TV and getting a kiss at midnight….as I have done for the last..hmm..7 or 8 years?

Sue sounds like she might have social anxiety disorder.

Sounds like Sue might have anxiety disorder…

Go to a bar and have fun! I’m sure there are lots of things going on in Chicago so you wouldn’t have to stay home.

@AquaGrey8962:  I’m in bed by ten every night and I also don’t like crowds. Most nights I would also prefer staying in and watching movies and playing games with good friends. That doesn’t make me lazy.

Obviously you need to make some friends who have the same interests as you but I don’t think you need to insult the ones you do have now.

Yea I also go to bed pretty early, definitely don’t mind hanging out on the couch with a laptop or book in my pjs, and don’t know a lot of people who truly enjoy going to the grocery store. Not sure if that makes your friends (and me) lame or super lazy fucks, but I’d probably just make the effort to get dressed up and find a place go out with my boyfriend/fiance/husband if I was that depserate to go out.

@AquaGrey8962:  Sounds like you are too dependent on your super lazy fuck friends. Go out and do what you want to do without insulting your friends for their life choices.

I’m in bed by 930-10 because I wake up for work at 6 Every morning. I don’t like going out a lot either and would rather be home

i do like going out though on occasion maybe once a month  I hate going out for dinner because the type of food is usually fatty/salty and id rather cook a decent homemade meal.

@MsJ2theZ:  +1. For us, its a different stage in our lives. We go to bed around that time too, we stay home becasue its relaxing after a very long/hard and busy day at work. Tomorrow, we are probably going to sit on our couch, watch a movie, have a drink, eat some pizza, watch the ball drop at midnight and go to sleep.

@SouthernGirl:  That’s insulting – so just because Sue likes to stay in with her husband she has a disorder?  Sorry – for some reason there is a SURGE of bees that are so quick to assume everyone has Aspergers and/or social anxiety.  Maybe Sue just wants to stay in side a lot.  Do we need to diagnose everyone nowadays?

@skippydarling:  I agree.  I have anxiety and don’t have to stay inside or hate doing anything or sit on the couch.

Agoraphobia is not something to just throw around.  or the word anxiety. It’s so loosely used it annoys me because I’ve had anxiety almost every day of my life since I was 13.

Some people just like staying home !
