I would rock a 2 ct round solitaire like nobody’s business!

Vote for solitaire! Halo is gorgeous too, but I like to switch things up and a solitaire allows it much easier..Congratulations On your new stone! Picture?!

I vote for solitaire. I find when looking at the photos on this board that when the stone is big (like yours) nothing is more beautiful than a solitaire. It really lets the stone show off. I think halos are better when the stone is small and you are trying to maximize the figure coverage/overall bling look.

mrsbinegar:  I don’t like yellow good at all on my skin Tone. But I think it looks so timeless and classy on other ladies.

I think since your stone is 2ct that it would look great in a solitaire!

I like the halo, I’mnot really a fan of solitares…with that being said my ring is a solitare but my setting is kind of intricate. I guess i just like bling more than simplicity.

mrsbinegar:  I’ve always loved solitaires there so classic. Even though that halo is beautiful with a 2ct Diamond I think it would be too much. I would probably go with 2 blingy bands on either side

Both are gorgeous but I say go with the solitaire for that size of a diamond. It would be stunning. Let that 2ct beauty have the spotlight 🙂

With a 2 ct stone, you don’t need the halo. Plus that one is really big and I think it would be overhwelming. I would let that gorgeous stone stand for itself and get a blingy wedding band!

Honestly, a 2-carat solitaire on a plain band and a 2-carat in a halo on a pave band are 2 VERY different looks. I don’t know that many people would be equally happy with either option — most people would love one and never even consider the other due to style/taste preferences. So I don’t think anyone else’s opinions matter here and it comes down to the kind of ring you want to see on your finger everyday.

Based on your previous ring and your previous thread where you were worried that your halo was too small (http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/does-my-ring-look-silly-is-the-halo-too-small/), you seem like the type that goes for the more ornate “blingy” rings, so I would honestly worry that you wouldn’t be happy over time with the solitaire on the plain band.
