Please everyone HELP me- Im so indecisive about which dress to order that its driving my family CRAZY!!!

Im a pretty short girl 5'3, but I will be wearing 5 inch heels to make me taller (my fiance is over 6 foot) and Ive got an athletic build

The two dresses that Ive narrowed it down to are

    1. monique lhuillier- I guess Ive always wanted a monique lhuillier dress and I when I saw Vanessa Manillo's dress I was totally in love; its so elegant and romantic!!! My mother LOVES this dress and I think it will never go out of style...

I NEED you help- which dress??? Im soooo torn!!! : wedding Monique Lhuillier Ball Gown

I was totally set on this dress until I tried on....

    2. lazaro- i just think its sooo different and interesting, but im not sure if its just "trendy" for now or if in a couple of years time I will be asking my self- what was I thinking??? I would definitely change out the belt to just a plain belt

I NEED you help- which dress??? Im soooo torn!!! : wedding Lazaro 9239 A

(sorry I dont have photos of the actual dress, but the bridal salon wouldnt let me take any- boo!)

I know they are pretty similar with the sweetheart jewelled bodice, but I guess its really the type of skirt that Im trying to decide on...

    What do you gals think???

All I can say is bravo to wearing 5" heels, I practically break an ankle in 3" heels lol.

@Genuine513: LOL... im actually wearing platform heels so they dont seem that high and then im changing out into supercomfy wedges afterwards =)

Im not much of a heel wearer myself to be honest, but the boy is tall (most of the time when we kiss I have to stand on my tip toes!!!)

Lazaro! Even tho I wasnt thrilled with the man he makes a nice dress.  I do think over time the pick ups in the 1st one will date.

@MASPA: Wow did you meet Lazaro? what was he like?

true about the pick ups... I initially was going for a more plain skirt, but I love the way it gives the dress eome texture...

I really don't like the skirt of the Monique Lhuillier--the material or the way it lays.

The belt on the Lazaro isn't my favorite, but I love the bodice and the skirt--pretty, intresting, but not over the top or strange.

@sillysimon: i didnt meet him per se.  He was at one of his trunk shows and sat behind the desk on the computer.  I expected him to be interactive, other designers do it.  It was a disappointment.

@sillysimon:  are you talking about adding this to the lazaro gown?? combining the 2?  I still like the other skirt better.  I have this vision where as you move it looks like your floating.  it looks almost identical to the monique bottom.  and no I didn't get one of his dresses.  i considered lz3166 but instead chose a pronovias.

@sillysimon: I prefer that non-shiny fabric, yes it's still pick ups but they're a little better since they aren't so symetrical.

I think they are both trendy styles, so I guess I'd pick the one that sings to me.

definitely the Lazaro.  i love the movement of the skirt.  I'm not a fan of the ML skirt.  I don't like the fabric and they way it lays.  I think the pickups are already looking dated.

@smyley: I guess the problem is that they both sing out to me, but with different songs- the monique lhuillier is more of a orchestra and the lazaro is like a rock band

Great analogy! In that case, which way do you want your wedding to be and to be remembered? Which one can you see yourself in and looking at in your album in 20 years? Which one might make you ask yourself 'What was I thinking'?!

I look at my wedding pictures, and still love my dress~and I wore it a LONG time ago.

I love many Lazaro gowns, but that one really isn't doing it for me. I usually can't stand pickups, but I think the Monique looks so elegant on you. Even better than on Vanessa. I think it's beautiful and really suits you!

Well, they are both trendy. But for me personally, the 'what the heck was I thinking?!' dress is the Lazaro with the crazy ruffles/texture. I know it's super popular, but I don't get it. I think the first dress is gorgeous.

@Wonderstruck: Thats what my mom sed aswell- she thinks im going to react how she reacts now with her big sleeves 80s dress- LOL! I think the whole ruffles thing is quite new (so who know if its a trend?), but the monique lhuillier pick ups have been around for a bit so it might be more than a trend (either that or its ALREADY starting to go out of date!)
